What do you mean by it won't let you do a burnout, like it instantly kills power or you can't sit there for 10 seconds if you wanted?

Can you reveal your settings with the tranny, ie C, M, or S? How hard do you brake, and do you floor the gas once the brake is on or just gradually start the burning

I think you guys should maybe try holding the brake, start spinning for a second or two, let off the brake and then quickly get back on the brake and see if that works for you if you are wanting to spin for a long time.

I have spun in M and S the one time I went to the track. I am not 100% sure but I think I hold brake then floor it for a split second then let off some continuing to spin then let out of the brake pedal some and then completely off of it. I think I may go try a burnout a little later to see what I do and how long I can spin for in one place.

I can spin my tires as if my car had 1000hp...but aprox. 2 seconds afterwards will bog down and dead hook....lol. I've tried everything...the car hates me.

The mystery gets stranger and stranger for mine (2006 E55)... I thought my car would ALWAYS interfere with burnouts, but now I'm not so sure.

The other day, I was at a dead stop and turned of ESP (transmission was in Sport mode) and tried to do a burnout. For the first time ever, I avoided the temptation to hold the brakes while initiating the burn..... I simply floored it.

WOW! The rear tires erupted into a cloud of smoke and the car started slowly creeping down the street. It was definitely several seconds of tire shredding before I lifted out of it and the electronic nanny was nowhere to be seen. Previous "hold the brake and burnout" attempts were always shut down within a couple of seconds, even with ESP turned off... though I think back on those attempts I was also in "Comfort" mode on the transmission, so that may have played a role also.

Ok, I lied it does it to me too. I guess I never held the brake that long to stay in one place. I just tried it in M and S and it kills power after 1.5-2 seconds. You can hold the brake and get them started and then when you feel it start to cut power let off the brake and continue to blaze for a good while though. That should be enough to warm up your tires plenty at the track.

I have heard of some the newer class having the sam isues. I tried to run in dyno mode a few times but goes into limp mode. Burns out like a raped ape but then limp mode on launch.

Just to clarify, TC is off and tires are in the WATER and still the TQ takes over. It is real bad and som ofthis seems to be tied intot he ABC suspension. If I try to do a donut or some drifting, then TQ overrides system and cuts power get car back in stight line. STAR can remove this but when you turn the key off, it re-sets back.

HigginsBeach was a madman. He sat in his driveway and practiced until he could put the car in and out of dyno mode in seconds.

He would do the burnout in dyno (everything off and tires on fire)....then roll forward, shut down and pop out of dyno in just a few secs.

Course nothing wrong with dyno runs in my eyes. You just gotta know the risks. No baby sitting if she gets sideways....no abs and I think maybe even no airbags. Scary. Done it several times myself with no worries.

Tried the dyno mode and it went into limp mode at launch. Not fun rolling down the track 35 mph.hehe

Here is another over-ride thing on the CL but it has its advantages. I can put car in M mode and it will still shift through each gear on its own. It just raises the shift points a few hundred RPM.

would an open diff. solve your issue? is there one for the CL?..I had this problem and had to really fight to do a real burn out. Not only the one tire stopped spinning but the car would bog down as well. Quaiffe+Dyno mode for me and it occasionally goes on Limp mode, then just try it again until she learns where she is @ and why she is there

Yup, same thing in the SL. I still do my burnout in dyno mode, but then I shut the car off and restart before I stage it.

Thinking of heading up to the track this friday to get some times in. To those of you making sub 2.2s 60's how exactly do you pull that off? Do your tires chirp up a bit while accelerating cos last time I was out at the track I definitely could not pull sub 2.2 60's with my 285 T1Rs because I would let off the moment I heard the slightest chirp.
Also, what exactly is good/ terrible track prep? Thanks gents.

t1r's are my favorite street tire. i put the suspension in comfort, go around the water box and do a dry burnout for about 2 seconds in manual mode in 1st gear and esp off. i then put the trans back in sport mode and "d", do a shallow stage and launch from idle by firmly applying throttle (not quite a stomp). if there is some old rubber and vht on the track i ussually hook up enough to get low 1.7's and i never let off.
