So turns out the Truth about P030 390mm rotors is...
...That they are actually 380mm!!
I am in desperate need of front rotors for my CLS55 with P030 performance package brakes, but I cannot justify the cost of the OEM replacements( @ over $1300 a rotor at local mb dealership!!). It also makes no sense to replace a 2 peice composite brake rotor with both hat and disc, when the hat is perfectly fine, and the whole point of 2 peice rotors is that you can replace the discs seperate. So I have been searching everywhere for someone that makes a 390mm x 36mm Disc under the assumption that MB clearly did not cast their own and must have come from traditional suppliers like Brembo.
I tried everyone, Alcon, Brembo, Stoptech,Performance friction, Gyro Disc. Nobody makes a replacement 390mm disc. That got me thinking that maybe it's cause it doesn;t exist! Sure enough my assumption is correct. I measured the following
Diameter: 380mm
Thickness: 36mm( to outer lip, but a 35mm will do)
Bolt Circle: 258mm
Flange inner Diameter:234mm
Flang Thickness 8mm
All these specs perfectly match Both Brembo an Stoptech Aero Rotors. I will be orering a set or Stoptech rAero otor discs( @ $350 a peice, but waaaaaay better than OEM cost) to replace these and do a write up for DIY types. This is in addition to confirming the pads are standard style 983 pads that you can get from many manufacturers for cheap.
I wanted to post up so any others with P030 Performance brakes know that there are other options because a factory Brake job would be close to 3K for these which is insane. I post up the DIY as soon as I get the new discs..

Very comon practice on brake components, the old w210 e55 and c43 AMG shared brakes with BMW 750i
what do you think for less than 200 of your dollars..............for a pair?

No e55 to compare to but since the pads are the same style as a e55 I beleive they must be the same. The main difference I can see, is the caliper bracket boltiing to the suspension upright is offset more for these rotors. I assume with the right bracket and the 380mm rotors it would bolt on right on.

if the hat height is the same for the e55 then a 20mm spacer between the caliper and the bracket to raise the caliper up is all thats needed. prolly need bigger rims, doubt the 18's would clear a 380mm rotor

I have Brembo GT BBKs on my car, front and rear. The 380mm rotors clear the 18 rims fine; it's the GT BBK aluminum calipers that don't clear. They're slightly larger than the factory 8 pot Brembo calipers. I've tried fitting the stock E55 rims, the E63 rims, and even the SL55 18 rims. None clear the Brembo GT calipers. If you can fit a 380 disc to the stock caliper, it will definitely clear the stock 18" rims.
Totally unnecessary. A larger disc doesn't impact the operation of the calipers.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
I have installed big brake kits on well over 20 cars/trucks. Never had an issue and at times it was even better as most factory cars come from the factory with too much understeer for my driving style. Hard cornering with larger brakes tends to counter that a bit-at least for me. AKA Angeles Forest , I'm sure you know it.

You don't brake when entering a turn at high speed? Balance is everything. More bite on the front allows for more oversteer which allows me to toss the rear end more than stock as the E55 has too much understeer IMO. Your correct that it does affect braking, but for me, it is a positive.

No changes are required to SBC. Disc annulus is the same, as is contact patch for pads on the 360mm. The increased diameter allows for additional dispersion of heat. No more or less torque is required. The big benefit of these is the reduced unsprung weight from the aluminum hat.

completely disagree!! i upgraded from 2 piston front/rear 330mm/300mm ate setup to a slk55 6 piston/4 piston 340mm/330mm brembo setup and dropped almost 30 lbs off each side. the difference in handling was easily noticeable

P030 were always 380mm's no ? The SL65 is the only one which has 390's as far as I know.
For the 380 brembo GT setup (which is effectiely the 030 package) you need 19" rims.. 18's wont clear the calipers.
