Outran a V10 R8 Today!!
I was driving on 280 near Woodside and all of a sudden a V10 R8 slides through the onramp and guns it. As soon as I saw what was going down I pinned as well. I then follow him for a while until we get side to side. Once he gunned it, I gunned it as well. The only thing I saw were his headlights and that put a big smile on my face because I had just done the unthinkable; I beat him!!
He gave a thumbs up and I'm sure he was sort of embarrassed. This was a brand new R8 straight from the dealer. I have come to love my car more now that I beat this car. I'm also running pretty rich right now because I'm not tuned for my high flow cats so I know I can go faster. Yeeee

R8s are being smoked all day long here V8 and V10.
i used to play with them by my E55, and for some nice reason my new CLSTt with PP is a bit faster than my E55.
these V8 bi-Turbo are no joke.

Nice kill. Looks like you've got some decent mods. R8s are nice looking cars, but the E55 can take them down in a straight line :-)

GTboard's runs show that a stock R8 V10 will beat a stock BMW M6 and a stock Lamborghini Gallardo 500 HP E-gear.
Only a bolt on E55 AMG and M5/M6 will be able to outrun an R8 V10. They're fast but the newer V8 Twin Turbos with PP from AMG can beat them and the BMW F10 M5 can beat it too.
Your 63 would need mods. Bolt ons. But gains won't be as much as a forced induction type engine... Heck, I think the M5/M6 show better gains through boltons and whatnot than a 6.3 AMG V8.

The guy I was responding to has an E63 AMG. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that engine on a E63 is already nearly maxed out.
The C AMG was intentionally detuned but tuned back to "normal" plus other boltons would yield it greater gains. That's true. Unless the E63 with boltons also has similar gains of 100+ whp...

Oohh I see, didn't notice it was regarding the E63.
Yes, the E63's engine is nearly maxed out from the factory.

There is always something faster but is there much better looking than the V10 R8? Its all subjective of course but I know which car id rather have.
Hell E55's blow away F430's and a very very choice few can run with a 458 but Id rather lose in a Ferrari.
