Read it last night and laughed.
Also, I guess I was incorrect in thinking that all E63s had traditional spring suspension as opposed to the Airmatic?

09' E63 wagon ( white ), 09' E63 wagon ( grey )
I climbed in the 2012 SRT-8 at Road Atlanta during the Petit Le Mans race, it's poorly made and weird instrument panel ( neither clean or functional ). There's no way I would ever pay $50K for something like that, even $40K is pushing it!

2007 E63, 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi
Read it on the plane a couple weeks ago...Some of it's pretty true, but it's still a Dodge...UConnect is a zillion times better than COMAND, but I don't know where they come up with zero steering feel and wallowing like a boat..? Do they have Elise steering feel.? No, but I've personally never sat there and wondered what my front tires are doing...They are completely right about lead times on design and technology...it's all pretty much defunct by the time it hits the showroom...

I see how they can be compared, but I would never trade a 2008 E63 for a 2012 Charger. The Charger is nice and all...but it looks and feels cheap ( I've been in one, although I've never driven it ).

No mention that Dodge used to be under the Daimler umbrella. And they were booted out because Benz couldn't fix their inferiority. That Charger will depreciate alot quicker than any AMG. Plus the Chargers are mostly bought by Police Depts to chase AMGs. And that is the SRT8 models. The rest of the Charger models (SE, SXT) are bought by rental car companies.

Also, I've never heard of an SRT8 police interceptor...only R/T's.

I really like the Challenger and the Charger in the SRT variants. In fact I came fairly close to buying a 2012 Challenger SRT8, until I spent a few months on the SRT8 forums and read about all of the quality issues they have. In the end I bought my E63, sure it's older, but you simply cannot compare the craptastic build quality of the Challenger to an AMG. I still think they look good, the Challenger especially, but I'll take my handbuilt V8 over the hencho in Mexico V8 every single day.

Personally I thought it was pretty well done. It didn't take into account the sheer comfort/superiority of a well made car. It focused on improvements in handling, which are probably fair.
Let's face it, this forum is going to disagree.
There are a lot of cars I would consider to replace the E. A Charger isn't one of them, but for some people it is perfect.

I am dealing with a similar situation since i got my new car, people telling me i should've gotten a GT-R
As we all know the 997 turbos were/are/will be compared to the Nissan GTR. And we all know the GTR has had the edge on some off the tests and is indeed Faster if tinkered right, for 30-40k less Well lets say i went with the depreciated item for the same reason a lot of people would go for that E63 in this article

I think it is equally ignorant to call the Charger another piece of American crap. While that might be your opinion, the automotive industry as a whole has hailed the American Big 3 for the strides they've made in the past three years. This improvement has also been reflected in the steadily increasing sales of American cars. I think credit should be given where credit is due.
With that said, I wouldn't pay $50K for a Dodge but if I do think the SRT cars are fantastic performance bargains when purchased CPO'd.

You can disagree with his review but to assume that the editor is bashing it because he can't afford one is a pretty presumptious and ignorant statement.
