Low Gear/RPM Surge....

in the lower gears upon acceleration at low rpm, im experiencing a surge/buck as well as a quick small squeak noise. Any ideas? The surge is very short. Today it actually surged in a down shift pulling up to a light and almost pushed me into the car in front. Thought id check here before i bring it to the stealer.

Mine does the same occasionally when sitting in traffic, not got to the bottom of it yet, will watch this one with interest.

few things im sure its not
- Supercharger pump
- supercharger clutch
- plugs & Leads (as i changed them to try and rectify this)

let the ideas begin

You have two issues, the first is the supercharger engaging, thousands of post on this topic and it is the primary reason MB/AMG went to a N/A 63 motor.
Again the chirp you hear is the S/C clutch, thousands of post on that too.
In 2006 AMG came out with an updated S/C clutch, that many had replaced under warranty.
Now the second problem "surge coming to a stop" I have no idea, have you checked for codes?

As Yacht Master has said there are PLENTY of posts on the issues with the clutch engagement, when it disengages and reengages. The chirp is definitely the clutch engaging and is resolved with the updated clutch.

The kick in the seat of the pants when slowing down is something I've experienced before and was resolved with a firmware update of the TCU from the dealer.

Wish it was easier to explain guys, its not when you are slowing down, its when the car is crawling it surges forward like a rush of air has gone into the engine. this can be without touching the throttle!

I agree the chirp that 2jzAMG has is the common issue, but i also hear where hes coming from on this surge almost at idle.

My tech says it could be a leaking supercharger gasket

Just had the supercharger overhauled by the dealer. I figured it was blower related. The surge at idle feels tranny related. Car isnt throwing any codes, so i guess its off to the dealer! Warranty is worth every penny.

The euro cars have a few features in the SBC like hill hold and one that applies the brakes when you let off the accelerator (for stop and go traffic) make sure these are turned off.

The supercharger is not engaged at idle and the bypass is open.
So if the idle is poor, bumpy +-100 RPM it could be a vacuum leak any where between the throttle body and heads.
