Well my salesman called today, actually its the sales manager, and he offered a Tectite 03 for July, I told him I'd rather wait till 04 and the NAV option and he said I'll be the first one to get an 04 from his dealership!

I'm pretty pumped as I was on a 2 year wait list at another dealership. Now I could be driving in July! I've been reading this board for a while. Had an SLK32 which I traded in for an M3 which I totally hate.

I would have ordered another SLK but the E55 is just to nice to pass up.

I plan on ordering Silver or Pewter and hope that a grey interior will be an option for 04.

Congrats! A U.S delivery in July is very optimistic! The 2004 W211 'probably' do not start productin in Germany until July 2004.

Get Pewter, it is a very nice color. Too many silver around. Or White! I almost traded my C32 for a Pewter, but I decided to keep my current ride for a little longer.

Congrats on your desicion. Are you the same norb from the slk forum in benzworld? if so, got a lot of useful info from you about modding a slk230. but, it's time for me to part w/ my slk also.

Unfortunately @ san francisco mercedes i'm no 10 on my waitlist for a 2004 E55. wanted nav also and spec'ed the followwing:

unfortunately, i'll prob have to wait 1 yr for it to come. But the dealer did say he'll keep in in the loop. Just tough living in CA.

Yea that's me, what's your handle over there.

What I meant was if I would settle for a spec car, I had dibs on the one coming in July. But I'll wait. Salesman said delivery probably will be in September for the 04.

Actually its a new dealership and I'm number 1 on the whole list. I can even get an SL55 if I wanted. A little bit too pricey for me.

Same handle as here. just did more lurking than posting since they have such an active and great community, so never really needed to ask anything, and can find them w/ the search. Although linh was really great and friendly to ask info on.

Will still visit them, since I love the styling of the slk at least the R170.

The M3 is the first car I wasn't giddy with excitement with after I bought it. Its a great car, I got the SMG, but the interior is cheap, the leather is thin, heck even the door release inside is chromed plastic. Just not what I'm used to with MB.

Performance is awesome but still slower than my 32, handles a little better, lighter feeling, but not as solid feeling as a Merc. Just my personal taste. Nothing wrong with choosing a BMW.

Also, my experience with the dealer kinda soured my ownership.
