Either he's straight up convinced his chips worth 75 hp and that gives him "475" and us 469hp. Who knows. I asked him to take a look at his car and he said not a problem, as he wanted to look at mine also.

Probably just a guy that doesn't have a clue about performance and just goes off numbers he reads online and like you said sees his car has more power with his "75hp chip" (when it doesnt) and thinks he will win. I raced a GTO from some stop lights several years ago in my A4 when it only had barely over 300whp and was neck and neck with the guy. He couldn't believe I kept up and said he had the 400hp/400tq model and was shocked when I told him I had a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder lol. Also had a friend run against one at the track in similar setup to my 320whp and beat the GTO down the track, think it trapped like 106mph.

I'm thinking about running 1 gallon of race gas and about 5 gallons of premium, enough to let the car make up the increase in octane w/o a tune. Any more simple things I can do to help?

it won't offer any measurable gains without a tune so there's no reason to cut into your profit margin. just keep the tank at 1/4 or less to reduce weight.

if you want an advantage just make sure to get him to race from a standing start. then simply leave esp on, suspension in comfort, and trans in sport/drive so it can do the shifting and slowly mash the pedal off the line.

I was thinking about spinning te tires a bit and then doing a 1500 brakestand in M1 and shifting at about 6300. Don't know if he wants to do a 0 to xxx or a set distance yet so we'll see.

Lol. Funny. Even if I wrecked, wether it be at 35 or 110, I'd trust my life in the hands of my E55. Any day, rain sleet hail snow or tornado, although unlikey. And where this is going down, we could easily put 2-3 car lengths between us for extra safety.

If its a LS2 GTO he can get 40 HP and roughly 30TQ crank numbers from a tune. This what I achieved on my TBSS when I had it tuned initially. This is also with a CAI, and a auto with about 22% drivetrain loss since its such a heavy car.

Here is the deal. A. I don't condone street racing in Illinois. Effective as of January 2011 if a driver is caught 35+ over the speed limit it is a $1500 ticket and 45+ over the limit is a $3500 ticket. Both can also carry a tag of wreck-less driving if the driver is or is not actually wreck-less driving. Considering you are driving a Benz and not just any Benz but a E55 AMG and 17 get ready for the max penalty if you get caught. This isn't two country boys going for a ride, its a rich kid in a BENZ AMG =$$$$$$$$.

B. No 2wd car can hook up like the Benz AMG cars on the street in my opinion from what I have personally seen in Chicago and Youtube. So if you race the GTO from a dig assuming both are automatic the BENZ will eat him alive just because of how advanced the traction control is on the Benz compared to the GTO. Also the weight of the Benz is an advantage from a dig and the GTO is limited to 155mph more than likely, as body parts will fly off after this point anyway. If your AMG is tuned 186MPH BOOHYAH and all body parts intact LOL!

C. If you so chose to race, do it on a track or closed area. Make certain you have no spare in your E55 and also make certain to have less than a 1/4 tank of gas. Also be certain to power brake before launch (Rev to 1800RPM and release brake) and set the car suspension to "Comfort Mode." Finally put car transmission in "S or manual" and LAUNCH! Remember every 100lbs of weight removed = +10hp. So do the math on the 16 gallons of gas and a spare. Also drop the psi in the rear tires to below 28psi or so for more squat if you wanna get real serious.

D. Instead of betting for $100 make him pay for your tank of gas and ask to have his trunk badges. Since you need to add them to your album of cars you have beaten.


I am willing to take odds on the E55 winning by at least 4-5 lengths (IE .4 to .5 seconds)

If you want to yank him on the street in the cold I would do the opposite. Leave the spare, fill up the tank, and throw a couple hundred pounds of sandbags in the trunk. You're going to win no matter what, but taking weight out of the back of the car will not improve things for you.

First off, why are we even debating this? It's not like he's racing a Gallardo, even with 10 illegal aliens in the trunk he'll tear the GTO a new *******. Don't launch, don't empty the gas tank, don't take out weight, just put it in D in whatever mode and put your foot on the right pedal and shout "Weeeeeee" Now to the people flaming this kid for being young and driving an AMG, seriously, grow up and get over it, I really don't see why a kid his age shouldn't drive an AMG or any expensive or powerful car, whether he bought it or his parents did, it's his car so back off. I do agree though that you should find a deserted stretch of road with no trees or obstacles nearby and that it's wide enough so you won't ram each other at 120+.
