Thanks man. So what exactly do I tell the muffler shop to do? Just cut, lower and reweld the tips or lower the entire cat back exhaust? I'm sure I'm not the only one with their stock tips buzzing on this diffuser. The ladies keep asking what that noise is while riding in my car...kind of embarrassing, lol.

I installed this diffuser a few weeks ago and the inside exhaust tips are making contact with it causing a rattling noise. I tried dremeling the inside of it with a sanding drum and then touching up with black paint to gain a little clearance but it's still touching when driving around. I basically need to lower my exhaust ever so slightly. Are there any adjustments that can be made to the stock cat-back exhaust to lower it without taking this to a muffler shop? Any help would be appreciated...

Not yet, haven't had time to look for an exhaust shop. Still buzzing around, I just turn the radio up most of the time. Let me know if you find a solution other than cutting and welding.

i just got mine fixed todAY what they did was remove the resanator and put an x pipe then dropped the muffler and brought it out. To do this all you just need more pipeing where the resanator was or if you dont have a resanator just tell him to extend that area an inch or two.

Guys its not that complicated. All the shop has to do is bend the hangers with a crow bar. Worst case, they should heat up the hangers, lower and center the mufflers into the desired position and hold them there the hangers are cooled off.

MBWorld Fanatic!
how much are you all paying to have the exhaust lowered and such?
and what is the easiest/most secure way to mount this to the rear? any pics would be handy on my install.
Thanks

Yea the E55 sedan CF diffuser is different from the wagon's and I don't have one for the wagon sorry. The car is too rare. I wish I can find one. I want one now!
