Getting ready for a road trip
I'm picking up my E55 from LA and driving it back up to SF next week. Any tips on how to keep it from getting chipped up? Where can I find that blue tape and how much should I cover the front end with it?

I say tape up the whole thing just in case there's acid rain. Also, make sure to seal up the car so the smell from Harris Ranch doesn't get in because that might melt the leather.

Spray Pam on the front area so bug will slip off and not damage the front end. Duct tape is more durable then blue tape and can match if color is silver

lol. did you just ask where to buy blue painters tape?
I type in Blue Tape in google and the first thing that comes up is....
Scotchblue Painters Tape!
If you decide to go that route. You only need one layer.
I wouldn't waste my time with it. These cars are already almost 6 years old. Big deal.

You don't have to go on a 6 hour drive to get chipped up. Rock chips happen any time any where. I'd be embarrassed to drive with blue tape on my car. It's a used car, it likely already has chips in it.
I've heard great things about Dr. ColorChip.

The AMG is made to be driven... not pampered.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Just because a bumper may have some chips already on it does not mean he wants to add more to it. Also, there is this invention called paint booths where even old bumpers go to look new again and perhaps his is just that.
