who is interested in ditching their supercharger...

Just want to see if there's a market for a turbo conversion to the 55 platform. The system that's bein designed would be similar to what is done to the ford gt by heffner. Basically instead of the supercharger and all associated hardware there would be a bice sheetmetal intake manifold. Boost is going to be sourced from two top mounted turbos. My ideal goal is to have a smaller turbo like a gt30 working with the torque of these motors and then a custom spec gt4094 for top end gains. Let me get some feedback

I sort of like the low end torque the s/c provides. A turbo would be nice, but I doubt I would find the setup as useable on a daily driver.

With a properly sized small Turbo you could have near instant boost. Shortly after the big Turbo takes over. This setup is common on the big diesels making a ton of power that still want to be driveable and fun. Key is experimenting with turbos to find the right pairing.

This would be a killer setup if someone wanted to really push things to a whole new level.

Not Interested in a turbo setup on an E55. Might as well just get a used _65.

A couple things to consider. The setup would make boost on the line. Remember a turbo makes boost from engine load. Addressing the issue of why not go with the ttv12. Well the 55 motor would make just as much power a lot simpler to work on less parts to replace and of course the issue of space. The oem charger/intercooler set up is the biggest drawback of making big power. I'm intending on using a motech stand alone to handle the motor.

our tuning can't even handle the boost we have so i'd like to see someone get a stand alone or at least piggy back working before people think they can get the hardware to work.

research motec stand alone systems. They would have no problem running our engine. Of course a wireharness would have to be made. Another problem is our oem ecu will still have to be used to retain other functions of the car. So it would have to get tricked to meet its needs. Also in regards to the v12tt, the thickness of the metal is much thinner compared to the 55 motor.

For those who think a twin turbo system can't make enough low end torque to blow your socks off...trust me when I say...it most definitely can. In my GTI 1.8T, One of my many setups had a small T3 60trim with a .48 exhaust housing put out 300lb-ft of torque at only 3,000rpm ( Keep in mind, I would rev this engine out to over 7,800rpm ) and over 300whp. And it's only a 1.8L 4cyl engine ( that's the equivalent of a 900whp E55 ). A properly sized turbo setup on a 5.4L V8 can make well over 700wtrq at 2,500-3,000rpm and still put out 700+whp. You just need the right turbos.

I'd love to do a TT set up but would want to do use stock ECU setup if possible. I can put AEM on but don't want to mess with CELs.

The car is fun enough as it is with larger pulley on the street and pretty good on the highway.

As GT-ER said turbos can make plenty of torque and power low down if sized properly. Not sure if the performance improvement would be worth the headaches involved overall though.

The is absolutely no reason why you would lose bottem end power with a properly setup turbo. Heck it may be good that there is some power loss to limit wheel spin! On my turbo truck at 50 mph if you floor it in 2nd gear I have wheel spin...with huge drag radials!

When I get my range rover I want both the s/c and the turbot, Luvvy. Be a hit in Greenwich. Just write me a check from the trust fund!

If the car didn't already have a SC then a TT setup would be my preference over a SC. But, I just can't see any reason at all to take off a SC to install TT's.

Wait a year and pick up a used TT if that's what you want.

Well if you're gonna be a guinea pig then it's your choice but it's a risky build. If a tuning company did R&D into it and came up with a "kit" which they would price ridiculously and would never take the project because the market isn't large enough it might work. I think it's better to focus on cooling and larger displacement SCs for the 55k. Otherwise just drop a 600 TT V12 engine in and call it a day........and twist some driveshafts *cough* Godspeed *cough* Or go buy a new the new 5.5 V8 and drop it in which would be too expensive and not worth it.
