New E55 AMG Owner
Hello Everyone! Well, as of Sat, I am a new owner of a 2005 E55 AMG. I got it with 51,000 miles and a 45,000 mile warrenty.
I am still the owner of a 2000 Dodge Dakota with a 5.9L and Powerdyne blower and a 1994 Dodge Dakota with a 389 SBM with a 76 mm turbo. So as you can see, I like my vehicles to have some power!
After driving it a few days and making a short 100 mile trip, I am thrilled. I got about 22.5 measured MPG at 70 mph (which is a lot better than my 16 I was getting on my 2000 Dakota).
I searched the forums and will continue to do so but have a few questions:
1. What should a bone stock one run?
2. Is there a way to check the oil via dipstick or is it all through sensors?
3. I have a key that starts the car, but the door lock functions don't work. Is there a battery inside the key and how does it come apart?
4. How do you program the door opener on the rear view mirror? I did it according to the directions, but no joy.
5. How the heck do you store a radio station setting?
6. Is there any other power outlet besides the cig lighter and the one in the rear center console? (for cell phone charger)
7. How do you remove the water stains on the glass?
8. What are the rims made of and how do you get the slight pitting out of them?
Im sure I will have more questions, but would love any tips, free mods, tricks and help!
Thanks!

Thanks .trunzx. Every forum has a ********. I guess I found this one's. I said "I searched the forums and will continue to do so but have a few questions..." Apparently, you have a reading comprehension issue because I didn't ask where the search function was. But thanks for your most useful post.

You didnt happen to own a red low 9 sec dodge challenger 4-5 years ago did you? There was a "theotherdodge" user on Moparts forum in located in Houston that went to a Dakota...if it is - we actually spoke on the phone before I moved to Texas and was in the process (still am) of building a 68 dart drag car. Let me know...small world...maybe.

If someone on here is willing to search for you or copy and paste that's fine I suppose. It gets tiring reading hundreds of posts asking the exact same questions.

If you don't mind can I ask what you paid? I'm looking for an 04-05 with ~50K miles right now.

99% of most everyone's questions have already been posted somewhere in these forums. This is a huge forum and for example, if I type "oil change" in the search function, I don't really get what I am looking for. Maybe I don't really know how to use the search function properly. With that said, how good would these forums be if everyone's reply to someone's question was "search". I that is the way you guys like it here I guess I will edit my reply accordingly.
I have been on forums for many, many years. I see lot's of the same questions asked over and over. I just just ignore them, rather than let them bother me.

Thatmight be the most grossly inacurate 1/4 mile quote ever! 12.xx or 11.xx depending on driver? More like depending on DA if you get high 11s.
So depending on where you live Denver or below sealevel ATCO anywhere from almost 13.99 to 11.98. Obviously the factor of driver, tires, DA, suspension all play into account.

-900 DA and I believe Atco is below or at sea level. I am certain if an E63 NA was also there he would have ran a similar time. DA is what matters when comparing 1/4 mile times you need to adjust the DA to 0. Adjust for the -900 DA and his time was not sub 12 seconds
This isnt my first 1/4 miles rodeo

Thanks for filling up the forum with reposts. Literally all your questions have been answered before. I guess it's expected that you ask the forum to do your searches for you?

Hey Trunzx, why don't you try and not be a d-bag and give the guy a break. He just joined the sight after purchasing his first MB and I had advised him to introduce himself and post questions since the forum is typically rather welcoming to newcomers. Yes he can search these things out and read for hours, or he can simply post his own new questions and allow others to respond, as well as get new responses from people who may not have been involved before. If you don't want to participate then just stay quiet and let others chime in.

Cry me a river I have no problem with a new member introducing themselves and posting pics of their car. Furthermore I never insulted anyone or called them childish names. I advised him to search and he got all butt hurt.

Nobody called you names either. I simply suggested you not act like one. However, comments such as yours are the reason I haven't been on the forum in quite a long time. It's not worth the headache.
Now I regret having my friend sign up but maybe he'll be a little more forgiving and look past the useless advice from the likes of you and focus more on the others who were willing to take 2 minutes out of their day to give him some specific answers.
Here's my final piece of advice to you --- If you don't like reading the same ol' questions that have been asked/answered previously then I would recommend you simply not read the post. It's kinda' like TV, if you don't like what's on you can always change the channel...

I figured it was!! Small world!! Welcome to the forum and AMG ownership. I can tell everyone "TheOtherDodge" was a great contributer to the Moparts forum, and was also the owner of a BEAUTIFUL wicked low 9 second red 1972 Dodge Challenger. If I remember correctly mid-high 9's all motor and lows 9's at 140mph+ with a little juice? I still have a pic of it...lol.
PM me - I would love to catch up with you!
