Okay fellas.... back by popular demand, our Famoso Raceway Private Track Rental count down has begun

Thanks guys.... this is the first time we actually run a big rental in December. In the past, our rentals always been either in November or in January/February which sometimes saw temperatures as high as 75 F. However, at Famoso (in December), the temperature has always ranged between 45 to 50 F, so I'm hoping it stays like that this year so we can finally get COLD weather and some nice DA.

I believe one post mentioned that they don't own a fire burner (too expensive) to warm up the track when there is not enough sunlight. That's why they wouldn't want to use VHT in that case, as it'll only make things worse (very slippery). Also, their track has been needing re-surfacing for the past 5 years; they have a few dangerous spots that need fixing. Famoso, on the other hand, just re-surfaced their entire track in concrete last February. Normally, tracks only use concrete in the first 200 feet or so, but they decided to do the whole track. Also, they service and upgrade their equipment (at least) once a year per contract. The last two "November Events" we experienced temps as low as 48 F and people were still cutting 1.5 and 1.6 60' times not including the super-insane drag cars that were running low 9s all day

Good luck guys!!! Must be nice to look at ten day forecast and have it be sunny every day lol. Thanks for putting these events together Mo! I know it takes hard work to pull off good rentals

Famoso DA today at 10:00am was -533.
Saturday looks a little cooler and a little dryer. Right now it is 46 degrees with 41% humidity. The track sits at +600 so I think we should be in negative teritory all day Saturday. If anyone has a car to beat the record(s), this will be the west coast day to do it. Look forward to seeing everyone!!

Looks like we got canceled. Very disappointing, but not Mo's fault... I appreciate the attempt, and will wait for the new date.
I wish more people interested in modding these cars were interested in seeing what they will actually do.

I believe Mo is trying to align with another group, and it will likely be in January.
DA at Famoso right now is (neg) -791. It is such a shame we lost this opportunity. We rarely get this type of conditions, and these are required to make the passes we are all hoping for.
I have completed my grieving period, so Ill stop whining like a B ***** TCH now..
