Exactly!! Dansamg is correct. You have use a torch. It has the red loctite on it. Heat it up really, really good and it will almost fall out. Just make sure you re-install it with Red loctite and torque it down to the proper specs. Let us know the outcome

Heat is unnecessary and overkill. Hit it with a good impact gun, with a decent amount of psi it will come off easily...

650lb impact , 1/2 extension, 130psi or so, came off no problem. Someone must have been pissed with yours at the factory.....

LOL...

Did you heat yours?

What I wonder is, once you heat the loctite, do you have to re-heat it? I mean, does it go back to it's normal state when it cools down or does it loosen once it heats up and stay that way?

YES!!! Finally!! It took me fixing all the leaks and bypassing the regulator, using a shorter 6" extension, and modifying my compressor to reach 140psi ( normally regulated at 110psi ) and even then I had to hit it over and over again for about 30 minutes before it let loose. DAMNNNNN!

Thanks for all the tips guys. Crazy stuff I tell ya.

Also, I put the new bearing in the freezer and the pulley I'm going to be putting it in the oven. It should make my life easier.

So how did that little trick work for you? Did the bearing drop in without the help of a shop press?

It doesn't drop in per say....but all it took was slight tapping with a hammer and it went it very smoothly. No pounding or anything like that.

Nice! I've read about that trick before... Just didn't know anyone that has done it or how much it actually helped.

Metal hammer with a piece of wood in between or a rubber hammer?

Bearings are bearings.

Mobil jet oil checked ok?

The heating/cooling thing works very well for press fit items. Used this trick many times for harmonic balancers over the years.

Metal hammer and nothing more, but I was tapping relatively light so no damage whatsoever.

I am having the same issue. Using a 6" impact extension with an impact socket on it. Using the best 1/2" gun IR makes! Heated it up, still didn't work. I'm trying penetrating lube now, hopefully that helps.

maybe try it with a swivel instead of the 6" extension. you need more torque

I think cranking up the psi in my compressor is what finally did the trick.

@GT-ER I assume you pulled out the radiator and fan in order to be able to use an impact? or is it easier to pull out the super charger? I tried to remove it by just using a breaker bar and a shallow socket on my E55 and it will not budge at all.
