I thought I knew what FAST was until today...
So waiting for my buddie in front of my new place, he was gonna stop by and check out my new home. I'm waiting for him outside and looking for his Turbo but he rolls up STRONG in this:

My obvious first question is "How fast is it?"
We went for a ride and "fast" does not even begin to describe the experience. The car is LITERALLY two rather uncomfortable chairs bolted to what I can only describe as a Saturn 1 rocket. The heat from the engine coupled with the sound made me realize that this is not the luxury car I've only seen in pictures and behind velvet ropes, it is more of just a really big and powerful machine. There are no words to describe the sensation of WOT. You sit there and you know the car is fast from what you've read but when those turbos kick in, your life begins to play a full feature right before your eyes as your insides start to search for a way out. Truthfully, I was more terrified of the sound more so then the actual speed (if that makes any sense). Also, if I have wheels that turn heads, this car breaks necks.
Anyways, if you've had the experience, and that's exactly what it is an experience, then you know what I'm ranting about. I feel humbled being driven in this thing and if you have the opportunity to drive one, you will never forget it.

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
coolest thread of the fricking week pal !!!
the veyron in itself is amazing & the GranSport is even sicker - I imagine the engine sound is crazy & its a neck breaker for sure....
did you drive it?
did your friend actually buy the car or does it belong to one of his associates?

It was great!! I saw my new neighbors scratching their heads at what the hell that car is doing on that street. An ambulance drove by and the two EMT's hopped out to take pictures! It was wild.
BTW, your car

That's awesome man! I think that car is the single most impressive car around. Forget the SLR or Enzo etc. Give me a bughatti.

Sweet!!! That Veryron is amazing. Great thread. You found the Veyron to be uncomfortable? I sat in one and did not find a issue with it but does driving in it make it different? I was not lucky enough to drive in one but sat in one on a showroom floor and even when sitting still it looks fast

That's badass man! Awesome welcome to the neighborhood gift haha! I found the acceleration to be much smoother than I was expecting. It's a very calm and planted car. Really want to go in the grand sport though, I bet that sound is intoxicating from inside the vehicle! Absolutely badass!!! I'm very jealous!

Astounding! Isn't that a $2M car? I have never even seen a Veyron in the wild.
An old high school friend has worked as an auto journalist on and off over the years. He got to drive one briefly. It is so expensive to put miles on the car that it arrives on a trailer, comes with a "handler" that spends the entire test with the journalist, and has a 100 mile limit. IIRC the tires last 10K miles and cost $20K to replace? Slightly out of my budget range...
