Weistec Engineering M113K Supercharger Upgrade...Progress

Hey guys, we want to let everyone know the progress on the Weistec M113K Supercharger Upgrade. The system is what we consider the missing link for the AMG 55 platforms. The design foundation starts with our 3.0L Twin Screw Compressor, free flowing intake system, billet fuel rails, and our large, high efficiency intercooler that has been proven with our M156 AMG 63 systems.

The Stage 1 system will be CARB approved and 50 State Legal, just like our M156 AMG 63 System.

We hope to have power and cost figures out around the new year to follow shortly with a full release of the system. Power will be out of this world, and we are working hard to make this an affordable upgrade for all.

Very nice! What do you expect for gains based on your experience on other platforms?

With enough fuel the stock bottom end gonna hold up to this beast? How drivable do you expect it to be? Seems no clutch, how does the blowoff system work if there is one? Something like what GM is using orrrr? Very interested to see what can be done with this.

So is this unlike our kompressors in that it is always engaged? Looks great so far!

Thanks for the support. ECU calibration will be provided by us, and driveability is as if you were driving a stock vehicle. The bypass valve will retain the factory electronic control, to maintain off boost efficiency and MPG. The factory troublesome and noisy supercharger clutch is removed, allowing less rotating mass, and no belt chirp!

Nice looking set up.
Question: How many lbs. of boost will the Stage 1 set up have?

What is the target price? I know it's not going to be cheap but how expensive could it be?

One concern I would have with that big of a blower is that it could be lazy down low. On the 03/04 cobras, the Whipple 2.3's hit much harder down low than their 2.9 or 3.4's. The bigger blowers really shine up top and on the top end though.

That may not be an entirely bad thing.

As it is, these cars have an awfully hard time putting power down from a dig.... so a setup that allowed for some traction off the line, followed with power delivery like a freight train through the rest of the powerband could be a very good thing.

Like so many of the other exiciting product announcements on this site recently, the devil is in the details.... and we're going to have to wait to see actual power numbers and pricing before we know how much of a game changer any of these products really are.

I am hopefully optimistic about this one.

I agree...I would easily trade 50wtrq for 50whp in order to gain a better top end which is more usefull than what happens bellow 4k rpm.

No doubt it will have more usable power up top but the car will not be as responsive in day to day driving. At the track and highway runs will be epic.

OP says pricing will be announced in January 2012, with product released immediately afterwards....

You must have been too busy drooling over the photos, and forgot to read the words!

To tell you the truth I didn't read anything. LOL All I saw was a beautiful supercharger on the E55.
