the r888s are by far the stickiest tire you can run on the street and wont last over 2000 miles but will hook like a rocket out the hole

Bump. Got a flat on the way to work this morning. Going to order a set of hankook v12 evos. Is the consensus still that a 285/35/18 is going to be fine on the stock wheels? I'm not lowered yet but plan on doing it soon and just don't want any issues because I went with too wide of a tire.

I would NOT go with a 285 Hankook V12 on a stock width rim. 9" is the minimum recommended width for the 275 Hankook V12. I run 275/35/18 V12's on my stock wheels and they are already pulled in pretty good. 285's will fit, but they are going to bulge pretty badly - here are a few pics of the sidewall of my 275's V12's on the stock rear wheels..

I think Im running 34f/35r right now. Tire wear looks good so far with about 6k miles on them - fronts have a good 75% left and nice and flat wear and the rears are down to 50%.....rear tires dont like these cars...lol.

Only on the rears...lol. Actually these seem to wear pretty good - I think theres a good 25k in the fronts based on the current wear. I'm just a bit hard on rears - not to mention 17 runs down the 1/4 with a burn out for each.

If possible, go with the widest tire possible with the lowest profile. I had BFG KDW2 285/30-18 on 9.5" rim, and it gripped and had amazing traction, along with acceleration. IMO, that is the optimal sizing for our rears if you are sticking with 18's.

That's good info, but those rear wheels are not stock width...
Stock is 9", most of the CLS-type wheels are 9.5"
I'd still like to see a 285 (30 or 35-series) mounted to a stock 9" rear wheel out of morbid curiosity.
In the coming months, I'll be mounting my current 275s on my "Shardul CLS" wheels (also 9.5" rim width).... I wish Michelin offered the new PSS in the 285/30-18 size, but they only offer it in the 35-series.

Hi
It is a little bit off-topic but here is my question:
Would those wheels fit E55 without any arch rolling, etc?
245/30ZR20
285/25ZR20
(Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres)
on those wheels:
9.0x20 - et 45
10.5x20 - et 45
(Brabus Monobloc 20")
Cheers
