Post Little annoying problems with your car?

I figure having one thread with a lot of little problems that aren't exactly thread-worthy can end up with some quick and easy fixes. I've only had the car for a little while, so here's what I have:
  • Can't adjust mirrors, but they did move when I pressed one of the memory buttons. Is it common for the switch to go bad?
  • Passenger seat wobbles, but is bolted down properly.
  • Sat radio didn't work once randomly. Started up fine after turning car off and on again.
  • How do you adjust the clock?
  • Why do I need rear tires more often than front ones???

My passenger seat wobbles too, especially when I am on the highway..

Its a rear wheel drive car.. With a bunch of torque, of course your going to eat up rear tires more than the fronts

Are you serious about last two questions? SAT radio does glitch once a year on my car.

The tire one was a joke.

The clock wasn't

I never think about the clock until I'm driving.

Service or something like that on command unit left side, then time and date.

my pax seat wobbles too and it SUCKS that it does that in a (once) 100k luxury sports sedan. For your mirrors, your mirror switch has gone bad it seems. Mine did the same thing and I had to get the left mirror switch replaced.

mine was doing this and was driving me nuts ... took off the rear plastic on my seat and it was one of the air lines came out if its retainer and was squeaking/rattling against plastic parts... snapped it back into its retainer and no more passanger noise...

headliner was also rattling in rear so took it out nad put in some sticky 3m foam and reinstalled headliner and no more rattling car....

for 100K car thing was squeaking/ rattling like my jeep cherokee in high school lol

I always end up emptying the swear dictionary when working with steering wheel menus on my car. ALWAYS hit the wrong buttons and can't navigate around well with the steering wheel.

Just a little thing so no worries.

the lack of control over intermitant wipers and the speed sensitive sound **** me off too... especially with headers, everytime i get on the highway and gun it on the onramp my radio would turn up like triple volume! got to the point now that i just pause the cd when getting on the highway lol

the one touch up and down will randomly quit working for a while and the come back for windows and sunroof. I wonder if it is disabled when convenience features are disabled like my Audi does ... but thinking about it .. the convenience features disabled message should be up ... works most of the time.

Just like the rear tires wearing out faster than the fronts ... my fuel gauge must be faulty ... it runs out of fuel way faster than I think it should

Another one, and this happened often on my Toyota: When I auto-up the driver's window, it will occasionally re-open to about 4 inches after closing all the way. I don't know if it's a quirk or some useless feature since it's the second car in a row I've had that did that.

Sounds like you need to resync both your wipers and your windows. To do you windows roll them down, then hold the switch up while the window goes up, when the window reaches the top continue to hold the switch up for three more seconds. Now the window should operate correctly

Thank god my bucket don't have any problems you guy listing. Knocking on wood!!

To the OP, my advice is DO NOT over fill the gas tank. Stop filling the gas once it click off. If you over fill the gas tank you will start complain about the gas smell and worry about your car blow up.

Whenever I'm on a date and hit the go pedal it always turns the girls on and they try to hump me while I'm still driving. That can get annoying sometimes when I'm trying to "watch the road"

Just sayin......

My trunk lid squeaks like metal on metal right as it's closing, and it makes me crazy. I literally just spent three hours disassembling everything back there and looking for a squeak but i can't hear it inside the trunk... only outside. i'm about to lose it on this one. almost lost my head twice while looking for the noise.. those germans are serious about their trunk lid closers..

And lately, when i am going over bumps or taking off from a stop, the back of the car sounds like it's moving/creaking. it's like it's loose back there. I recently messed with the headliner trying to get near the satellite antenna but i can't imagine that caused it. sounds like the rear end of the car is loose!

Denroll-
You would think adjusting the clock would be a simple process or even manual using the knob near the clock. Not so. With the E63, you set the clock by going through some steps through the radio !!! Not sure if the same on E55.
As far as rear tires, on the E63 if you have it set in sport mode and you also set the two suspension settings for aggressive driving, the car will create negative camber on those rears to provide better grip. But in doing so, you will go through some rear tires especially the softer compound tires like Michelins.
Good Luck getting your issues corrected.

I go through tires because of the diesel torque and a heavy right foot.

Thought of another one. There is a button that looks like it is supposed to fold the headrests back or something. When I press it, I hear a noise from the rear seat area, but nothing happens. What is this supposed to do?

Maybe you should read the owners manual, it will explain most of your "Annoying problems" with your car

Going over bumps I get a bangy/thumpy noise from under the center console. Was extremely hard to try and pin point so I had my buddy crawl all over the inside while I was driving on bumpy roads. I swore it was coming from behind me, but in the back seat he said he didn't hear it at all. Ended up with his head next to the trans tunnel by the passenger footwell and said it was coming from there. I'm guessing exhaust is rattling around or the trans mount is shot.

Cars put away for winter so I'll find out come spring.
