Need your Help !!! Valvecover replacement
Hi guys
i need your help please.
Today i replaced the valvecover at the passangerside.
Everthing was fine. I opend all bolts the 2 small Torxbolts of the breather cover also. I couldn't get the breather cover off so i decided to leave it as is it is and just replaced the big valvecovergasket.
When i installed evething i fixed one of the small torxbolts to hard and it broke.
I did some mb-sealant on the hole.
Now i'm not sure. Should i try to take breather cover off and try to get the broken bolt out or should i leave it as it is
i need your help please.

Thats the liquid sealant i put On the rest of the bolt.
Should i remove the complete valvecover or just the breather cover?

As for the oil fill cap, it's held in by a screw. Once u remove the driver side valve cover, u can see the screw holding down the oil fill cap.

Mercedes in all their mighty wisdom made those tiny Torx fasteners on the valve coverlids for '05 and '06 model years out of aluminum, as a reference for the '03 and '04 model years they were made in steel. I am not surprised that you sheared them, on my '06 I replaced the aluminum ones with the earlier model steel fasteners.
My advice is to remove the broken shank and replace with the earlier steel fasteners and not keep that blob of sealent.
Good luck.

I would not leave it like that, it's too easy to remove the cover and fix it properly. I can see you on the Autobahn now blowing oil around that broken shank. Polizei gonna give you a beat down.

Okay thats just 150km from munich.
Maybe we'll see use sometime.
Bolts are replaced.
I hope everything is fine now.
I have to ask again for the driverside.
Should i disconnect the fuelline on the engineside or on the other? :-)

We should have a Nordschleife day after I return in July (only 45 minutes from our house which is near Bacharach).
