My '07 e63 is officially up for sale...sigh
After much soul searching, I have regrettably put my beast on the market.
The listing is here:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...dard=false#top
Short version: '07, silver iridium/black interior. All stock. All options except pano roof (or P3). 38,500 miles. Immaculate shape.
Certified Pre-Owned MB warranty through April 15, 2012.
Asking $40,500. I'll throw in the all weather mats. LOL.
I have already purchased an additional 24 month MB factory "Extended warranty" that would run its factory warranty through April 15, 2014. This is NOT included in the price, as its fully refundable to me prior to April. I paid $3,995 for it. I could sell it with the car for a total of $44,495 if anyone wanted it - you can only buy it when you purchase a CPO car.
VERY hard decision to reach. However, with two labradors and three kids (none of whom are too often allowed in the Benz), it just wasnt practical, and honestly, I need the room of an SUV. Looking at new Suburbans and Denali XL's as we speak.
Sigh.........

Boo. That sucks. But understandable...if I had kids...not sure I'd let them in. With two pit bulls...I throw the seat protector down and yell at them and they don't move. Labs....not so much...they're moving. :-)

Really? No kids in the car. It's a car. I'd rather drive a car I love with kids in it than an SUV.
Your call, but it seems like a waste. Our kids handle our E55 just fine.

Its not just the kids, its the kids and all their gear (skis, 3 sets of golf clubs, backpacks, etc)...as well as their friends, teammates and their crap too. Just need more space. And there isnt any chance the labs can ride in the back. They're great...but nuts!
I'd love to keep her and buy a used SUV for the running around, but that isnt any more practical either.
In the end, its just a car. THere will be many others. And for right now, my needs have changed. Perhaps, once their college tuitons are covered, I'll add a 911 to the garage for my own pleasures as a reward.

Oh, I do get all that. We have three little ones (5 and 17 month old twins) and are about 6 weeks from another set of twins. We do have a mini-van for primary kid duty, but the E55 works OK too (that's why we have the wagon!).
Best of luck in your choice. There are some cool vehicles that fit your bill (can you say R63?)

Sorry to hear this. You know the GL550 is gorgeous so why not consider a nicely used one? I have 3 wonderful kids myself so I know the feeling here. We have a Qx56 SUV that the wifey and nanny drives them around in but I can put them all three with 2 in the back and my eldest up front with a booster seat. (The airbag turns it self off if the weight isn't enough.)
It's funny but when they're in the back my two daughters yell.."Drop the hammer daddy!" and when I punch it, they're laughing and giggling because the torque just pushes them back in their car seats.
See AMG can be family fun!

I like the GL550, but if I'm going the SUV route, I want to go BIG. And, since we're heading out west this summer, its a good reason to get a monster SUV for 2 weeks on the road. [Okay, honestly, I just want a big SUV for any old reason].
I like the new QX56 quite a lot...but felt it was a little too luxurious, and I'm wanting a little more "mud and dog" action. LOL.

she loves 'em!
good luck in choosing a newbie

I was in the same boat as you are (kinda,,,no kids or dog though),,, had 43,000 miles on it,,,getting ready for brakes,,and other misc., warranty runs out in 7 months,,,,so I went over to the other side (BMW),,and got a X5 50i twin turbo,,8 speed,,,very nice,,,getting a Dinan tune which will bump the hp to 490+ with 575lbs. of torque,,,, waiting on the tune till spring.. hated to leave the AMG,,,,:-( but like the replacement so far

Lawguy ~ Love the pic of your kid in the back. Its the look of a future AMG owner!
I sadly just gave up my E63 and moved into a GL550. The GL550 is a great ride but I am missing the power a bit. I'm sure I will be looking into a couple of power mods in the near future but for now I'm happy with the vehicle.

Say it isn't so! Have to go with the 2000 Durango. That is my specialty Dog, Baseball, food, snow mobile. USe the wifs SRX for the kids when a nicer ride is requiered. The E55 is for sun and fun and that is it. Plus, with the "Rango", I don't put on daily driver miles and if it blows up, I just scrap it and get another. Good Luck Mr. P

I agree with Emoving -
I actually just sold my Escalade, and it worked out excellent for my family. (three kids) and the only suggestion for you is to make sure you get the dvd player, because the only issue I had from the kids for a road trip was which movie they want to watch. (I had a 17" monitor installed, because I don't like the small headrest monitors) Great picture -

I have a fantastic picture I took of my son in the back seat of the e63 when going over a little hill that caused tickles in the belly.

We love our GL550 here, great mix in a sport-ute of size & some AMG goodies. Handles well for what it is, drinks 93 octane like it has a fuel leak & runs out very strong for a big truck. We peeked at X5's but they were too small & had no 3rd row seat. My business partner has a 10' Denali, it's also very nice, very roomy & has good power...just don't handle like the 550.

RE: E63 For Sale
If I were you, I'd trade it in on a fully loaded GL450. Chances are you will get good trade in $$ and you can still return the ELW for full refund.
The GL is plenty big, the 450 is a nicely balanced package and has enough power to get things done, and you can get a good deal on one if you make a little effort. It is also about $10K less than a GL550.
I'm going to get a 450 for the wife whenever she agrees to let her minivan go; tried to persuade her to go for a smokin deal on a leftover 2011 last November, but she wasn't ready yet.....pretty sure I'll get one sometime this year.
Otherwise, GLWS on the 63, you'll miss it when it's gone.

That is just an adorable and precious picture of your son. Good luck with the sale or your car!
