Does anyone have a part # of the Harmon/Kardon center dash speaker for a 2006 E55?

I'm curious what they charge for these. I know domestic cars are known for having highly priced stock replacement speakers. You may want to call a respectable local car audio shop and inquire about a possible direct replacement of higher quality. You can probably buy a much higher quality speaker for what your gonna find the stock one.

I was quoted $280 at a dealer but ended up finding it online for $67. The removal and install is very easy.

Yeap, it is really easy. My car is a MY2007 though, so I think it is slightly different. For mine, you take a tiny screwdriver and pry up the mesh cover from the 11 and 1 o'clock positions.
For yours, the cover should have slits instead of a mesh and I believe there are two little clips in the 6 and 5 o'clock positions inside the bottom slit (nearest a/c controls). You need to look down into the slits with a flashlight and you should see them. Once you release the clips, the cover should come off. You then have to use a torque bit screw driver to remove the two screws holding the speaker in. Once removed, pull the speaker up and out and detach the connected cable. Repeat in reverse to install the new one.

When you put it in can you note how many wires run to the speaker? Wondering if its some kinda crazy setup or just a couple wires or what. I wasn't too happy with what I heard turning up the stock system and was wondering about possible upgrades.

There is a tab at 12 o'clock, get a piece of plastic shoved in about 1/2 to 3/4 inch.
Now "all you gotta do is"...
get the top edge of the grill pulled up a little so you can pry up with your fingers.
Pull hard, the 4 spring clips are not easy and you need to apply force that would make you think you are going to break something. When they release it pops up and then pull to the wind shield to remove.
I still did a little scuffing of the dash material which I hope goes away with some TLC.
The speaker (A169 820 18 02) from Logic 7 clearly had failing adhesive between the frame and sound cone. Otherwise all flexible materials are like new. I am tempted to fix the speaker itself.
(now performing closer inspection)
Nope, can not fix it. The lower material has also sperated from the frame. Gonna go here and buy a new one for $78.75. This part number is used in many locations across multiple platforms.
I will post a more formal DIY later as a new thread. At least the offending buzzing is gone...

This is very brief for what it just took me to do.
