Well, being the optimist I am, since the BMW M5 engine sound is digital , perhaps it can be swapped for an AMG engine sound file. 

Still.....M5 is still a great car.

M5 F10 guys thank me later. I found the perfect sound file for your new supercar. Just swap the audio files and your all set. This will surely turn heads as you drive down the road.
As owner of W211 E55, E60 M5- sold, and F10 M5.
I can tell you in stock form.
W211 will jump about 1/2 to 3/4 a car length on E60 due to massive torque. But north of 80mph, the E60 will walk away from E55.
F10 will pull on W211 thru out the speed range. F10 is a much numb car to drive as compare to E60. But it still handles better than W211.
The W212 handling is a tad better but still no as agile as the F10. Situation may change when the facelift E63 arrives with AWD and better handling.
The only way a stock E55 can beat F10 is only when F10 is stationary. Even in 6MT, the F10 will launch faster than E55 (provided you dump the clutch at right moment).

Maybe after 120mph since 55k only has 5 speed tranny.
80mph, the M5 is still in 2nd gear, the E55 should just about the shift into 4th.
M5 SMG has tighter ratio than the E55's 5 speed. It will pull away from E55 from 3rd to 6th gear.
If the E60 driver is skilled and holds the rev well. E60 requires more skills to driven well. The E55 is good for anyone that knows how to press gas pedal.

I would have gotten rid of E55 a long time ago. But the puss depreciate way too fast. Makes no sense to dump it.
As i said, video will be coming soon. Hopefully this sunday, I need to put H&R on the M this sat.
