E55 vs F10 M5

Unless that E60 driver is dead. Highly unlikely.
80mph, the M5 is still in 2nd gear, the E55 should just about the shift into 4th.
M5 SMG has tighter ratio than the E55's 5 speed. It will pull away from E55 from 3rd to 6th gear.
If the E60 driver is skilled and holds the rev well. E60 requires more skills to driven well. The E55 is good for anyone that knows how to press gas pedal.

Dude- take it easy. I really did not appreciated to be called pusxx.
This is like comparing a 20 year old civic with a highly tuned engine is faster than E55. Pointless.
Stock to stock, E55 is old and out dated. That is my point. Perhaps you should read in more detail what i posted.
I am fully aware what a tuned E55 can do. But its pointless.

Are you really saying stock VS stock E55 is outdated compare to the E60 M5 ? Yes, I agree the new M5 F10 is much faster than 55K or even the new 5.5TT no doubt but I have raced the V10 M5, M6 and never lost (at least got to 100mph) OK, now what ? because those M5 or M6 guys I raced don't know how to shift their car properly ?!

I dont doubt your word at all. I have owned all the cars in question- The E55, the M6 of old (engine same), the new M5, the new M157. I have tangible proof and have been around a long time here so I can absolutely agree with all of you that you may have never lost. But as most of the old schools know me, I dont bs and I have beaten many an e55 up top and e63's too with 7 speeds. Your results are fact so are mine. And Im sure if we went to the M5 boards the results would be different where they say they have never lost a rolling race to an e55. If they say they have never lost a dig race they are lying Again I owned all the cars, drove them hard daily to speeds upwards of 175mph... I dont see anyone here with that much experience in true ownership.
I have been doing these types of races since I got the e55 in 2004 and when the M5 came out it was very clear; if the driver is not on it and doesn properly shift the SMG, the E55 will win every single time down low and up top. But these are E60 vs E55 comparos so Ill stipulate as such. The F10 vs E55 will not yield the same results. Hey the M113k is an amazing engine, still is but to me its dated. I think its a great buy for those who dont want to spend as much on a newer car with more modern technology behind the engine and tranny. The E55 was one of the best cars Ive ever owned. I normally keep my cars 1 year and I kept the E over 3 years, proof there. But another car that was amazing to me (which compared to my W210E55) was the E39 M5- another great car.
There will always be something faster on race day. I enjoy all my cars- Im glad you all do too.

Man... If I had your type of money I would have done every car purchase you have until now lol. Like you said though I'm sure the outcome of the races you had aren't false but I also have multiple runs on video racing w211 e63 and a w212 e63 (6.2L) and beaten both with the w211 e63 giving me more of a hard time. Oh and by the way I still love my e55 5 years and 4 months later no matter how outdated it is lol
+100 I have my car for almost 4 years still love it very much and don't think it outdated at all. If I have the money as Vic, sure the new M5 will be my list instead of new E63 or CLS63. To be honest, F10 M5 not only kick *** in performance, the interior design is much better than W212.

Every time I buy something new and go into a new community around a top level performance car I forget, and think, other people who have this car must appreciate all awesome rides like me.
It never ceases to amaze me how many people defend their car like the purchase of any other is tantamount to mental defect.
The F10 M5 is a beautiful car. BMWs, by and large, are far more engaging when turns are part of your road, and if you've learned anything about the turbo and motor engineering in the new M5, you will properly be captivated. AMG Mercedes have perfected the simple joy of stomping a pedal with a straight road ahead of you. Any modified this versus any modified that can "win", if going some speed or accelerating at some rate over some distance in some condition constitutes being "better". Whatever makes you happy, I guess. But good lord, passionate personal defense of a brand or a model of car?
C'mon. What is being built now and we're lucky enough to own is incredible, and there's no question the technology of today's top tier car trumps everything from the E55. And there's also a chevelle and corvette from the late 60s that's "faster" than anything from the factory today. Who gives a s? It's all awesome. We're lucky. Another car being "better" than yours in some fashion doesn't mean you're a retard.
By the way - what is the deal with interior storage on the W211? And why does the center console, where I want to rest my arm, consist of an uncomfortable roll-back drawer cover? Who OK's this crap to give us in conjunction with an incredible motor?

Audi S4 (sold), E46 M3 (sold) 05 E55 silver/black(sold)
I like the F10 M5's and BMW's in general. A few weeks ago on a roadtrip north from San Diego found myself cruising with an F10 M5. Cosmetically the car was lightly modified and it looked gorgeous. I could not however tell if its engine was modified though it did look and sound like it had an aftermarket exhaust. I thought it was safe to simply he assume he had more power than a stock M5. My car has roughly 500rwhp.
So, for a few miles we were polite and moving slightly faster than traffic which was a little on the heavy side. I was at 4 or so car lengths behind him when we got to that open stretch of road just north of Oceanside. Traffic subsided and well...he put the hammer down. I had a feeling he would but he still got a little jump on me. We were probably around 75-80mph or so when we started and quite unexpectedly to me at least, I reeled him in. My guess was that his car would make power up high and just walk me. That didn't happen. My torque seemed to allow me to close up on him and my car simply kept pulling. Traffic going into immigration check thickened and we both slowed. Eventually we were at a stand still and when I asked him (and his passneger, my car had just me) if he was stock he said "no", and to how much power, he said "600". I asked if that was at the wheels, he said no and I then told him that I did not have 600hp but maybe had 500 at the wheels. The expression on the passengers face told me he was fudging his numbers but everything was friendly so I left it at that.
All that said, I think my experience, like almost all impromptu street tangles, has to be taken with a grain of salt. He may not have had the pedal all the way down and quite frankly, in my few miles of cruising with him before we went, he didn't seem all that comfortable in the car. Hesitant moves, not a lot of spatial awareness...it's why I chose to have him in front of me where I could see him, rather than behind me and have him come up on me in a blind spot at some inopportune time.
