Actually I never stated a stock E55 was faster. Go back and reread the thread. So apparently you cannot READ ENGLISH! I realize your all butt hurt now- it really was joking around, sorry if you took things on the internet so personally. With that is out of the way, when do you want to meet up? And bring some of those tasty donuts man, love those donuts.

 

This is a humorous thread... I have and had both cars. I had the E55 back when no one here had one sans Krispy and we had them brand new. No one talked trash like this back then. Who cares if a 10 year old car can keep with a modern day rival. There is always something faster. Why dont one of you with your 9 year old cars race me in my GTR or my 997.2TT. Why dont we do it from a dig? Or why dont we involve turns... LOL. Im kidding here but Im sure no one would want a piece of a those cars from a dig or even up top and they arent even remotely fast as others in their segment (they are modded though). Like I said there is always something faster.

I have had 7 amgs and 6 M's--- all great for different reasons. The E55 was an inconic car but its long in the tooth for me. I have moved on to 65's, 63's and twin turbo 63's. And now I have two S63tu engines from BMW.

But there is still a ford pinto out there that will kill us all no?

Thanks man, I like mine and its very very fast. Id say faster than CLS63TT PP when it was stock. I have seen recent airstrip runs that prove it. Of course this is all straight line dialogue. The driving dynamics of the car are better, for me, than even the new steering racks of the M157 engines. The M157's have electronic steering which creates far too much understeer. I wonder there isnt more dialogue around true driveability. We all know the pigmatic system in the E55 is a terrible suspension. Even the M157 suspension is too soft with airmatic in back. The car has too much yaw in high speed turns and lacks the neutral feel of the f10. Again my opinion; now my C63 Black Series is another animal all together. The best, hands down, AMG Ive ever had.

I have always had respect for M5s. Especially this new one. The speaker thing is kinda strange to say the least. But, I'm willing to overlook that minor nuance. The performance is very impressive and they look great.

 

No doubt about the new power, but no one can deny its new RISE award winning. Just don't understand why they need it lol

This is like comparing a 20 year old civic with a highly tuned engine is faster than E55. Pointless.

Stock to stock, E55 is old and out dated. That is my point. Perhaps you should read in more detail what i posted.

I am fully aware what a tuned E55 can do. But its pointless.

Quicker yes... faster no.

from a dig it will eat up the SMG crap tranny (no tq) but as the rpms and speed rise the e60 will become more optimal. Thats why E60's would pull on E55's at higher speeds. I had both- well I had both engines (had the S65 engine m6) and I race alot of E55's from a dig (it didnt work all that well for me ) but from rollers I had limited issues unless I missed a shift.

The E55 was and is easier to drive than the E60- its a mash a go machine while the S65 is a 8/10ths or greater engine. You have to be always aware and on it to get the most out of it. If you are in the right range its a very rewarding experience; if you werent you were playing catch up no doubt.

Like I said before, both great cars for different purposes and different drivers.

 

What?? Maybe a broken e55 with a bad Intercooler pump. I've raced an e60 m5 about 10 times with videos up to 130/135 I've never been walked ever by one. I raced different cars as well. I start in 2nd @45mph what are you saying 4th gear is at 80? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about and you're completely biast. You must know this guy named GUSTAV.

I remember saw few years ago you posted some videos run against M5 and you walk them all the time. I have a feeling Mr kryspe just doesn't know how to drive a e55 ...4th gear at 80mph

 

Yeah i have all the videos still. Raced 2 of them and they were all same results. The only car that actually walked me stock vs stock im the 500hp sedan world was a CTS-V.

 

3rd gear in the 55 goes up to about 132 mph.. This guy has no idea what hes talking about

 

Here is one of the airstrip runs. This one was from a 50mph roll. 2nd run was at 40 mph same results. ClS had PP both cars were stock.

I never lost to any m5 at any speeds stock. IMO the e55 is just faster at any speed, you just have to make sure its not heat soaked.

I dont doubt your word at all. I have owned all the cars in question- The E55, the M6 of old (engine same), the new M5, the new M157. I have tangible proof and have been around a long time here so I can absolutely agree with all of you that you may have never lost. But as most of the old schools know me, I dont bs and I have beaten many an e55 up top and e63's too with 7 speeds. Your results are fact so are mine. And Im sure if we went to the M5 boards the results would be different where they say they have never lost a rolling race to an e55. If they say they have never lost a dig race they are lying Again I owned all the cars, drove them hard daily to speeds upwards of 175mph... I dont see anyone here with that much experience in true ownership.

I have been doing these types of races since I got the e55 in 2004 and when the M5 came out it was very clear; if the driver is not on it and doesn properly shift the SMG, the E55 will win every single time down low and up top. But these are E60 vs E55 comparos so Ill stipulate as such. The F10 vs E55 will not yield the same results. Hey the M113k is an amazing engine, still is but to me its dated. I think its a great buy for those who dont want to spend as much on a newer car with more modern technology behind the engine and tranny. The E55 was one of the best cars Ive ever owned. I normally keep my cars 1 year and I kept the E over 3 years, proof there. But another car that was amazing to me (which compared to my W210E55) was the E39 M5- another great car.

There will always be something faster on race day. I enjoy all my cars- Im glad you all do too.
