Arrow Lets talk Offsets! Custom wheels, advice needed.

So looking for advice on offsets... Heres what the wheel guy and I came up with...

20x8.5 et31
20x9 et36

20x10 et38
20x10.5 et40? 42?

Suggestions... Front I want to run a 245/30 hence leaning towards the 8.5
Back I want to run 295/25, leaning towards 10.5 (But have also ran it on 20x10 et42 with no rubs)

Just wanting to finalize these numbers, any help would be great.

Thanks in advance, wheel gurus!

I will have to call DPE Monday and find out what my 10.5s are for you. I run 295s with no issues at all. I could probally run a 305 with no rubbing. I put a 3mm spacer on the rear for the hell of it and still didnt rub. The V12s are the best tire as well as they are not bulky and square.

do you guys think an 11" would fit?

If the offset were correct that is

like a 20x11?

Yes. Alltrac and I believe Moosejaw have 20x11. Both have HRE wheels. No rubbing and they sit nice and flush.

BTW the offset when I had 20x10.5 on the E500 was 42 in the rear

My E500 was 285 with no issues what so ever. But Alltrac (Perry) would have to tell you his tire size since I'm not sure. I am possitive he is running a 20x11 rear, cuase I wanted them and he wouldn't let me have them.

I run 295 on 11' wide rim
Ive never heard any rubbing but the previous owner has told me on several occasions that it rubs slightly.
The face of the rear rim prob sits 3mm past the fender

Thanks Andrew! I knew yours didn't rub, even at the track your car was smooth. I just wasn't sure if you had 10.5 or 11. And I know HRE don't like to give away their offsets. Maybe you could check? I would like an 11 on mine also.

Mine is definitely 11" since I ordered a 7 inch back barrel to replace a cracked rim. The lip is 4"

A wider rim means you'd have to run a higher offset which = less wheel lip. Might be cool if thats what your going for, especially on like a full faced OE looking wheel or something. Has anyone widened some other AMG stockies?

On a side note, tbal your E55 is the epitome of dead shexy!!! Cant wait to see whatever your doing with that thing.

^I stand corrected. I guess if your ordering new barrels or making a set from scratch (faces, barrels, lips, hardware) it wouldnt matter much.

But for most practical purposes people are buying rims from a company already constructed and produced in particular sizes/offsets.

Where are you ordering your barels from? I think the wheels might be too agressive for what I wanted them for

Thanks, but I wonder if that offset works because the spokes concave hence clear the caliper. A straight face on a 3pc rim mite hit the caliper?

I know 20x10 et42 works (monarchs)

Just found my DPE stuff, my rears are 20x10.5 @ ET38. I have a 295 Hankook on the car. No rubs at all in the lowest ELM setting with 4 people in the car.

And with your 3mm space that would make it ET35....
