As long as you had fun who cares what any one else says. It takes time and practice to launch these cars. And remember, it's addicting. You'll probably be modding soon. Lol

Now that you've had your cherry popped, go back on saturday and give it another shot but without all of the extra weight. The track prep will be about the same, the most that I have seen them do is take a blow torch to burn off some of the old rubber and then they use this sorta mini tractor with what appears to be a giant wire brush and that's it. It will cost you $50 to run on Saturdays and make sure that you get there in enough time to let her cool down. You will also want to be ready to make your 1st run between 12:15 - 1:15 best DA for Sac on a Saturday morn. My 1st time at Sac back in 07' I could only pull off a 1.97 60' onto a 12.25@117

Sac is NOT a easy place to run at due to traction. We would always try to plan on making runs about a week after they have some sort of event where they have to prep the track.

Also drag radials is a must! When & if I ever get my 16" MT's from Alan I can sell you my 17" setup.

Sounds like you just need some practice then. Even with ****ty track prep you should be able to see 2.0 60fts if not better and with those temps even with a full car I would think your trap speeds would about 5 to 8 mph higher.

seat time makes all the difference. Atleast you got a feel for it, had some fun and now you know where improvements can be made go for test n tune at Sac, you get your money's worth on those events.

2005 E55 AMG
You also mentioned "response time"..which you mean reaction time. That is not factored into your ET of the car.

5000lbs! That's a little ridiculous but stock I ran like 12.5 with 2.2 and like 116 trap so your car sounds off. But with that much weight I have no clue.

So next time unload your car and stop making e55s look bad

This !

Nobody does great their first time out. If they say they did, they're either lying or lucky as hell. . .

e55
The slowest E55 I have personally seen was a 12.8@108, and that was with a girl driving and she left the tranny in comfort.

Regular E500s run nearly the same as your e55

They do Grudge Fest on Saturday nights after Test and Tune and usually for a little while the prep work that was left helps out.

Justin, that was a decent time for your first time out on a Wednesday. Hopezfully I can make it out next week for some fun.
Thanks.

A few friends who went out there with me were in the same boat (not having any decent passes).

The two E39 M5s that went out there were having problems trying to break into the low 13s. both were running about 13.6-13.9. (Both have previous experience running the quarter, and both have had low 13 second passes.)

Even my friend with a modded Evo VIII wasn't able to hit the numbers he ran before.
