That M5 is in general a damn nice and fast car. Where I have a problem is for being so much newer than 03 AMG tech its just not impressive to me in comparison. I'd want to be faster then it is vs an old E55 you can pick up for low 20's today when paying around a 100 grand for the car. I'll pocket the 80 grand and drive a slightly slower and used model all day long. lol

I think the 55 driver was kinda scared since M5 was cutting too close in the front. And YES, the new M5 is 2012, W211 E55 first came out in Europe was 2002. So they are about 10 years different technology car and for that little faster....... not worth $80K different.

Money not being an issue, id rather spend 100k on a new M5 than 20k on a 100k miler E55.
I had a NEW 2004 E55 in 2004- 8 years ago. I know the car well. Its a great car but I like new cars. My E55 was an 88k sticker in 2004 so lets play apples to apples and ask would you spend 88k (I didnt- got it at invoice) in 2004 or 100k in 2012? Its really a different story when you look at it that way.
I think its great that there are bargains out there on used cars just not for me. Id rather own it brand new, break it in my way and have the full factory warranty.

I poop on stock F10's. :-) I have a great friend who has now gone through an E60, E63 (M6), and now has the F10. But he's a banker nerd and never does anything to the cars (all stock). He hates me buying "used" AMG's that kick his ***....because I put a couple of grand into them and they do. And I have money left over to buy other fun project cars and motorcycles.
But then again...he's a BMW guy so he lives in an over-priced (and now undervalued) condo downtown...while I live in a house 4 times the size 8 miles away.
