I was told to remove my signature otherwise I would get banned

I received a pm from the moderators saying that I need to remove the shop name, my tuners name, and the contact info from my signature, otherwise I would get an infraction and permanently banned

Damn, there is alot of politics going on here, seems like this board is just a cash cow now, and not for the TRUE enthusiasts. How in the world would me having that part of my sig, cause someone to get all butt soar

Well, I hate to say it, but you kind of drew attention to your signature with the panty dropper image.

I was actually gonna PM you the other day because I was browsing the forums at work and a lady coworker walked by as I was reading one of your posts and she glanced at my monitor.... awkward moment.

I once did a exhaust for a local member at my shop and he put up a thread and commented on how he was happy with the work. As soon as i saw the thread up it was gone just as fast, this is one thing i don't understand about this forum. If people want diffrent options why can't we explore other options other then the ones that we are DICTATED to us. P.S Just to clear things up i have nothing against the venders on this sight as they have all been very helpful. But i wold like to see other options that people have used other then the ones that are provided for us on the forum.

I have nothing to do with IB, the owners of this site but, I do know that running this site is not free. Would you prefer that MBWorld charged you a subscription fee to come here and get the wealth of information that lies in this database?

Come on people. We live in a free market economy. Where else can you go to get all this free stuff and the only downside is some subtle advertising by paid sponsors?

Russia....geez.

Discussion is welcomed.

You may have noticed many threads bashing or praising long-time sponsors here. Many of those sponsors expect coverage/protection from staff here. That is not our job. Sponsors live and die by their reputation. If members find a good vendor, they are free to discuss it in the threads....but they can't advertise it.

Personally, I have found several very good vendors through discussions within these forums. Some had nothing to do with MBWorld and some were sponsors. That is the way is should work.

The bottom line is, vendors need to pay (IB) to play. Not my rule but, one I have to enforce.

Feel free to give it a shot. As you may know, several former staff members here went out and started a new MB oriented site last year. (I can't give the address as it is blocked here)

It is not easy. That site has some sponsors too, now. Even with the amazing Admin skill that some of the founders posses, growth is slow. It will take years to develop a strong knowledge base at a new site.

But, as I said, I love to see people give it a try. There is always room for good competition.

Thanks for clarifiying that but my point was, he posted a thread saying how he was happy with the work that was done. there was no advertising or soliciting of the business just a nice message thanking me and my business thats all.

Ohhhh I could so comment, as I'm a client of IB and sponsor some of their other forums. But I wont I will say this, dont get caught up in the politics, it wont get you anywhere. MBWorld is a business, period, dont forget that...if youre an entrepreneur or work for yourself then you will get the big picture.
