Time for pads and rotors....
It's going to be time for pads and rotors soon..
Are there any rotors that are as good, if not better, than OEM?
Same question about pads.
Thanks!

Does Hawk or EBC make pads that people like for these cars? I've had good experience with those brands in the past.

But I never got to this point with my car, but I'm pretty sure the car lets you know when you're due for brakes by using the sensor that it has for that.

Have Akebono's - love em - actually not a fan of "more bite" on the street. . .hate the head bobbling looking like your drunk trying to modulate the brakes to come to a stop move. . .just my opinion - here are a couple of threads (last ones mine): common concensus - EBC Red stuff = more bite/quicker wear on rotors/ Akebonos - stock without the dust.
I LOVE my Akebonos.

I don't know, maybe it's just me then. I have OEM pads and I LOVE how my car stops and how predictable it is, my friend has Akeboners and I drove his car and I hate it, I felt like I could not predict what the brakes were going to do when they're pressed.

probably the best pads out there with no noises almost zero dust..they seem to stop just as good.as.oem.... as far as rotors just do OEM

I did my front rotors and paid i think $220 for a set. Looking at new pads as I hate the brake dust of the OEM pads. They stop well though if that matters....

And this is coming from a guy that really uses his brakes! On a track! Driving around town, trust me, they are great pads. If Grant likes them on a track, I am pretty sure you will love them on the street as I do.

I don't think you can go wrong with EBC Reds or Akebono's. I'll be putting Reds on my car soon.
My thoughts are the Reds take longer to seat and get quiet, offer quicker initial bite (personal preference) but might be better for pushing hard on the track and Akebono's get quiet quicker and offer a smoother transition (personal preference) and work on the track. Either way they're both good and IMO the biggest benefit to both is the reduced brake dust over OEM. (Which is why I can't wait to put mine on.) I also use a wheel sealant to keep down dust longer. See the link below. Very helpful if you have OEM or light colored wheels.

I am back on OEM pads after running EBCs and Akebonos.
The EBCs pad material started to crumble away after a few fairly good heat cycles, and I did not like the bite on the Akebonos.

You will love the dust from OEM pads! IMO, anyone with aftermarket rims that are worth anything, you will want a low dust pad or the oem ones will coat your wheels in crap and ruin them.
