For those who say their intercooler pumps aren't always on.

IC pump turns on ONLY when SC kicks in (after your higher throttle demand) for first time in that engine run. Then IC pump stays on untill car stops (let say red traffic light) or untill restart of the engine. Then seqence is the same again (if ever SC kicks in in that engine run).
And doesnt matter what engine temp is, doesnt matter what IAT is and also doesnt matter what outside air temp is.
At least it does so on early years W211 AMG.

More people should check it out to see if their cars are like mine...maybe it's an 05+ thing.

Super bump on an old thread, but wondered if there was any conclusion on this. For me, my pump doesn't turn on until my engine is revd past 2000rpm, and then will stay on until I shut the car off. Is there a way via STAR or otherwise to trigger it on faster/at key position 2? I had a hotwire done with the old CM30 I had on there before, but have a new Bosch 010 on the stock connector now.

This place is a joke.
My 2004 would turn on once a certain throttle position was reached after cold start. When started hot it would come on right away. Once on, it stayed on. This was all tested using a light connected to the relay to monitor it. I now have it wired to run all the time in key position #1. I wired it all at the rear SAM using the power from the unused rear wiper output. I can post pictures later. This may not work on a wagon though. This is useful on a dyno or while parked at the track.

E55Greasemonkey, can you please provide instructions on how to wire it so it will run all the time in key position #1.
Thank you!

look for the thick orange or red wire all the way back in the ECU box. That is 12v switched. You can use the ground from the factory harness of the of the pump
