E55 transmission mod to rev match. (possible?)
Greetings. I was wondering if some sort of software modification with the transmission is possible regarding rev matching.
If someone is familiar with the way the C63's transmission shifts then you know it matches the revs beautifully for easy clean downshifts.
I know its not the same tranny but it would be an awsome mod that i would take over a chip and pully anyday.

Not worth it on the 5-speed, you're just not shifting that much and you have a much wider powerband in the 55 anyway. Besides in the C63 it's mostly window dressing, and still an automatic. Regardless the 6.2 makes its power up top where as the M113 makes it all low to mid range.

how am I not shifting enough? city driving im shifting just as much as any car. and When i downshift i always have to rev match with the gas pedal with well practiced perfect timing.

7 speeds with shorter ratios and a much more active program than 5 long gears where the 5th is basically an overdrive. Relatively speaking, you are not

The 5speed TCU doesn't possess enough processing power to do it. I inquired on my SL600. The TCU in the 5sp is an antique.

I've seen rumors that someone figured it out on the E55, but have never seen a video clip or any other proof....just a bunch of very old threads discussing it (well....arguing mostly). Tuner was MHP(?)
Also, there was some recent chatter about someone working with a tuning company who did a lot of work on the Chrysler platforms that use the same transmission as the E55.... there is apparently a lot more TCU tuning going on in that world and they were trying to bring some of that expertise to the Mercedes side. I subscribed to the thread when I found it....but like most of the transmission "blip shifting" threads it seemed to fade into obscurity before actual results were posted.

I thought the 7 speeds were double clutch no?
I dont know about some of you guys but 90% of the time Im in 3rd gear, first is a joke and second is T/C enless its over 60 out so I just cruise in 3rd and enjoy the long power band.
the e55 from 40mph in second gear will kill almost anycar you go up against if you have full grip in second gear.
We have the perfect second gear to rape people on the street.3rd gear is perfect for modded 55s also and once you hit 4th say hellow to that m5 catching up lol
1-2-3 is what the beast was made for and I LOVE our gearing,I actually wish my first and second gears were a tad longer.

You can do it manually. Tap the gas on downshifts.

If you do it right it is easier on the tranny just as it's easier on manual syncros and clutches. Been double clutching since the 50's - - - don't know any other way (too old to change).

Just like Steve McQueen in the movie Bullet, love it!!
Is it best to blip the throttle right when you click the down shift button or wait a half sec? Having trouble with the timing a bit

Manual mode reacts a bit quicker but in comfort mode I usually click the button then blip after my fingers off and it seems to have perfect timing everytime

I have had some butt-hole puckering moments in corners where the rear of the car would come around because of the sudden engine braking... Not fun, especially when there is another car inches from your car on the track!

I thought dynocomp/mbh could do this? See below dyno runs
Sounds like rev-matching to me.
+1 though on it getting annoying having to do it manually.

You know what, I think you're right by looking at the cls wheels.
On a side note though I didn't think it should be that difficult to get a TCU tune to do this since I assume the TCU is able to influence the throttle position (via torque limiting which I assume is closing the throttle). Maybe some vendors can chime in
