Plastic welding would be a temporary band aid if it didn't make it fall apart faster. The entire plastic piece that everything is built into is just spider cracking all over from what I have seen.

I suggested it back on Post #411....

It seems to me that an epoxy-reinforced stock part could be a valid, permanent repair. If there was an off-the-shelf MBZ part that actually worked I think we'd know about it by now.

The Airtex option seems promising as well....definitely want to get some feedback on that once somebody tries it.

I would put it in right now if they made a left side sender.

Happy Birthday Everybody! It's been one whole year since the fuel leak investigation started. For whatever it's worth, looks like there was a teleconference on 1/17/13 with the NHTSA and MB and its representatives. Unfortunately, there's no mention of what was discussed. I guess it would be wishful thinking to believe a resolution is in our future??? PJ

Keep complaining on MB and AMG's facebook pages, and on here, and anywhere else you can. The squeaky wheels get the oil. MB is clearly trying to ignore the problem due to the costs to fix it, we need to spread the word about how they treat their customers and owners of their products. The millions and millions spent each day should prevent these problems. If they do arise they should be quickly repaired, especially with the obvious safety risks here. MB has dropped the ball badly here and any potential customer should hear about it in my opinion.

I have had comments removed on FB. They are watching what's on their site. If we keep complaining maybe word will travel up the chain of command and if this bug keeps crawling up the right persons leg maybe they'll finally do something about it.

Someone should create a FB page dedicated to the E55 AMG fuel leak.

This is what I really don't understand. Why is my car down 4 fuel senders when another E has no issues or has had them replaced once with no issues sense. There seems to be a missing piece to the puzzle.

/\ Possible some shops were shipped or already had the older non revised parts while some other's received newer ones? I am not even sure if there is a revised part though. For the people who have had theirs replaced and have had no further issues, care to provide what your part numbers were from your work order, and we can compare to what others have.

For anyone that was curious, the Airtex sender is ONLY good for the right side. Its a strict replacement of 211-470-17-94.

The driver's side sender, 211-470-50-94, we're stuck with OEM.

True.

My driver's side needs to be replaced...I wish Airtex made a replacement for that side.

OEM version will always have an expiration date, IMO...lolz.

Anyone look in to Micron ethanol filters? Might not even be applicable, I just started reading up on ethanol and what it can do.

EDIT: What is the difference between senders? I see 211 470 45 94 is also a sender. 211 470 45 94 vs 211 470 50 94?

The part number tables are here. You can see the progression of parts that were used for each item in attempts to improve/fix it by MBZ, but at this point even the most recent replacement parts still leak...

Airtex needs to manufacture the driver's side too!

WTF? Why would they only provide a replacement for one side? #smh
