Question Car jerks in the morning when I put it in reverse

When I start my car in the morning and put in reverse it seems like it takes a second or 2 for gear to enage and I get a slight jerk. It only jerks from park to reverse or from reverse to park. Once fully warmed up it doesnt jerk when you put it in reverse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

IMHO lower fluid levels impact the cold movement, do you have any seeping or leakage?

Mine does it too, it's noticeable. not bad, sometimes I let it warm up for 30 seconds in neutral before shifting into reverse then it doesn't do it. Mine has done it since I bought the car. I now have 65k on it and it is still the same. I always let the engine settle down to normal idle speed before shifting out of park about 15-30 seconds.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Search will review responses. Bottom line, it is NOT normal. Do not let anyone tell your otherwise. Cold or Hot, should not be a jerk. Mine is buttery smooth, but I also recently rebuilt it. Mounts, engine RPM, fluids, solenoid(s), valve body, trans, etc are all culprits.

I guess you can start cheap, check trans fluid level and condition.

thanks for the response guys! I just got back from the dealer and they had to add half a quart of tranny fluid and now it shifts smoother than before
