Purchased these last year and finally got around to get these done right. I tried to use rattlecan paint but didnt work out too well. Decided to get my car to "go" before "show". Finally got my car to "go" and working on the "show" part.
Local shop did a great job on powdercoating them gunmetal and bringing these HRE's back to life. Shop does several of the redskins cars and custom chopper/cycle stuff as well. I will probably end up dropping off my surge tanks to get ceramic coated as well. Cant wait to mount these on my car for the spring/summer.

Once the weather gets better, probably April. I have a feeling when i take off my winter tire setup, its gonna snow in March and i get stuck on the HREs and summer tires. I tempted to mount them now, but with weather and wheel locks not arrived yet, will wait.

LOL, for all 4 rims, below was done:
-stripped to bare metal
-road rash removed/fixed
-break down the 3 piece rims
-primed, powder coated 2 colors
-put back together
-remove old tires,mount/balance new tires
Came out to less than $750
Shop is located on the way to MIR off of Rt 5/Billingsley Rd.

For me it was a 12.9 first time out - M - wheels look great and honestly, you have nothing to worry about from a time stanpoint at the the track - with your mods and tune, a horrible spinning 60' on street tires, you'll still be in the 11's

Wheels look awesome!
BTW my first run was 12.7 and it gets VERY addicting. You should still run 11s with your mods. And who knows, you might not stop there.

Thats what i'm afraid of!!! Run for the first time, and then will try again and again to improve at each track rental. Then try to add more power mods, buy drag radials, etc but from what i have seen over the years, its the driver that plays the most important variable to put the power down to the pavement to get better timeslips.

I'm going to solicit advice from you/ahmad at the track rental for my newbie run. You dont happen to have the OEM rubber ytube do you? I'm looking for a used one since the black tab broke off that secures it to the TB.

WTF, i'm glad i'm not the only one that made the mistake!! I'm going to superglue/gorialla glue the black tab back on for now and maybe put some electrical tape around the whole circumference of the TB so no leaks or prevent it from sliding off??
I kept on getting P505/507 and searched and did the TB reset last night. Drove to work this morning, crossing fingers and so far no CEL.

If you enjoy watching, you are going to love driving!
Don't get caught up with numbers or what anyone else is doing. Just sit back and enjoy the adrenaline rush, which you will soon be addicted to.
