I am in the process of ordering a 04 E55 pewter in color and am thinking about the charcoal grey seats with merlot inserts, has any one seen this combo, also any problems putting a darker tint on top of the blue tinted windows?

I have an '03 E55--pewter with charcoal interior. I wouldn't go with either the blue or red seat inserts. The full charcoal interior is perfect.

I wished that MBUSA would offer a grey insert. Its the best color for silver.

I have a brand new 03 E55 in Pewter w/charcoal/ merlot inserts. is very understated (much more so thatn the pictures posted of earlier model years), and practically unnoticeable from outside the car. In my opinion, an extremley elegant and tasteful combo, one which you will be very happy with.

Thanks for your replies and photos,it seems that the E55 merlot may be a different shade compared to the C32, any ideas on the window tinting with blue glass-- i do not want it more blue more of a brown/grey color

Once again, I have your car- the window tinting is perfect. It is not an in-your-face sort of blue, but it certainly does provide a distinguished (and distinguishable) look to the car. I don't think you have an option in any case, but rest assured, the car in that color, with those seats and tinted windows, is great looking. It'll be fine, honest.

they have a little different shade in the coloring because on the C32 the insert is Nappa and on the 211 E55 the merlot insert is made of a different leather (nubuck) than the charcoal surrounding. It has nothing to do with what year they are made.
