Anywhere between 10,000 miles and 200,000 miles. That's a pretty good guess imo.

And today is before tomorrow and after yesterday.

Anyone with some insightful information? I did a few searches and can't seem to figure it out. The car I'm looking at has 58000 km's (~36k miles) on it, stock with headers. Driven by a woman and then a retired guy on weekends.

GT-ER post is as insightful as its gonna get. There's no exact mileage when they need to be replaced. I'm at 97k miles and the same one while my buddies SL55 S/C clutch has been replaced twice.

Haters crazy
Shane should be fine! Must of the time you can just change the bearing so its not a big deal. I on the other hand cracked part of the clutch so had to replace it... You can always find used ones around for $500 ish... brand new its $900ish i think?

I replaced mine at about 50,000kms... brothers cls has 80+ kms and still same clutch... so its hard to say exactly...

God damn rain... promise once its clear will take you for a boot lol

When the bearing breaks down - so if someone beats the snot out of their car it's gonna break down sooner.

Get a set of feeler gauges and the factory spec of the clearence between the sc clutch and the sc should be between .35 and .45mm

I have 121K(miles, which is 190,000+ km) and my stock clutch is still working just fine. It's made the exact same chirp for the last 60K(much of that with a 180mm pulley), I've never had an issue, and I beat on it every chance I get. It's luck really, as it's a metal-to-metal surface, so unless the bearing goes bye-bye or something catastrophic happens, you shouldn't ever have to replace it. My advice is "replace it when it breaks."

Yet I had to replace my bearing at 65K miles. This is why I answered what I answered the first time.

is it the clutch that gives that chirp? every time i slowly accelerate and my window is down i hear a CHIRP and you can feel the car stutter and its fine again. really only happens from a stop as well... if the windows are up, can't hear the chirp just feel the little stutter.

I have the chirp. I think the stutter is the supercharger kicking in.

What causes this? Does changing the bearings fix it, or do you need to replace the entire clutch assembly?

60k on mine. Little chirp every now and then but no probems.

I drive her hard but not stupid. I agree that if you aren’t have any stuttering issues or engagement issues, you are good to go.
