We hear that EVERY year, and it never happens. It gets close, but $5.00 is the magic number that everyone will take to the streets, start dressing like everyone from Mad Max and burning down the city, in protest.

I just go, "meh". The difference between $4.00 and $5.00 per gallon is $20.00 per fill up. Big deal....

Just means the wife and I only have 1 glass of wine with our dinner, when we go out, rather than 2.

You guys dont know how good you have it..... seriously.
There are a lot of things that factor in your cost for gas....sorry petrol in the UK. Brits are taxed more than double for the true cost of gas, the USA varies by State but it's way less than that. However the Limeys have free health care for everyone , free dental care, free tea & biscuits, subsidized education (i think that's even free) , a immigration problem far worse than the USA, a staggering rate of unemployment, and very taxing welfare system on top of a royal family to take care of.

The moment Obama starts serving Tea and Biscuits to everyone, then you can make the true cost of gas comparison between USA and GBR.

Another $120 in the GMC today. I merely pass that along to my customers as another cost of doing business.

Oh, and the British have long been screwed by their free dental care. :p:

Sport, you certainly are entitled to your own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts. So, if you really want to be taken seriously, you really should make sure your purported facts are correct and learn to speak properly.

I spent a good hour rewriting this post while trying to avoid coming off as a douche. With the way the forum has been lately...everyone has been a little touchy.
You honestly couldn't tell by my previous post that it was sarcastic as well as my opinion. The English pay more in gas taxes than the USA. Why? I honestly don't know, but I think the cost to maintain a road in UK should be relatively the same as the USA? Perhaps it's slightly more bc the US has twice as many cars on the road/sqmi?

So.........where does the rest of the money go?????

Please don't call me "sport" You don't know me. If you knew me personally you would formulate a different opinion of me. You chose to engage me in a harsh manner. Youre not my parent, so quit acting like it. This is a open forum. You could have said "Hey Moose, i think your wrong, here's why, and i would have listened to your opinion. And that would have been it. You could have laughed at it as others did......

But no.............instead you got on your high horse with that fancy historic merc avatar and your obviously European influence trying to p*ss on my parade by insulting my gramar and referring to me as Sport.

No closing argument here, just get off my *ss old man

^^^^^^This right here.

I posted this picture as a joke. I didn't think it would hit every one's nerve. Oh well! I personally have never cared how much gas was. And I drive more than spirited.

I am incredibly bored and have nothing else to say so just stopping by to say you Euro using people have the $ conversion wrong and are being a little optimistic with the 1.58 conversion unless you are getting raped wherever you do an exchange. I just changed out USD $ for Euro today in Italy and it was 1.35 (1.346) USD for each Euro. I took out 20 Euro from an ATM and my account was charged $26.93.

That sucks more bull donkey than the price of gas! I hate losing money just to get money.

What's really weird is Hawaii usually has the highest gas prices in the nation. The prices you guys have posted is way more than I see in Honolulu.

Premium in Atlanta is holding at $3.99 a gallon. But we all know it is a racket and all the oil companies are in it together because they all realize there is so much profit in it that there is no reason to upset the apple cart. With summer around the corner, they will just ease the prices up like having your foot in warm water and the temp goes up slightly, you don't feel it until you look down and your skin is coming off the bone !!
No doubt we will see prices over $5 a gallon. Just the financial plan so Exxon, BP, Chevron can continue to report record profits.
But alternative energy seems to be a distant hope. At the Auto Show in Atlanta, the volt showed 96 mph utilizing the electric portion, but with the high price tag of $46k, no wonder GM had to stall production. Trust me, the technology is there for electric or solar, but the oil lobbyists are just too strong and they put a stranglehold on any alternative options on a large scale. Sucks.

We need more diesel cars in America. There's a reason Europe has so many with the crazy fuel prices over there.

Then again the way things work here they'd say due to increased demand diesel prices will be doubling. We need to get big oil out of the governments pocket.
