Anyone know any muffler shop can remove 2nd cat in bay area san francisco?
Hi guys ~
Just wondering if anyone knows a shop that will remove the secondary cat
around bay area ~ San francisco.
Just called about 3different shops and they wont do it . Since its illegal.
I told them there is another set of cat in the front. But they just wont do it.

Just had the exhaust shop on the NW side of San Carlos and Bascom remove my secondaries and resonator for not much $. They will do it without hassling you.

You might have better luck asking a muffler shop to put flanges on the cat, and fab up a test pipe that can be swapped out with the cat. That way they're not removing the cat, and you will be the one physically bolting on the test pipe. Plus you can always pass an smog test since you could temporarily put cat back if needed.

Hi all. Sorry for what may be a silly question, but, why would you remove the secondary cat ?
Again apologies, brand new to this site, just bought a 2008 E63 AMG in white and black. Sadly it doesn't arrive until next Friday and I am having trouble waiting for it :-)
Thanks
