SC rotor bearings
Just wondering if anyone have any info on the supercharger rotor bearings.
Over the weekend I finally open up the spare SC that I had. And in the process I damaged one of the rotor bearing. The local bearing warehouse can't help me, and searching the forum/web didn't help neither. So hopefully the E55 expert can help me out.

RNU0313ZZPXI on the outer race
Measurements are 40mm outer diameter x 17mm inner diameter x 18mm wide.
I found plenty 40x17x12 but none 40x17x18

No, the one you looking for is Nachi bearing. These are the one inside the SC. They are at the end of the actual SC rotors. A lot smaller and apparently a lot harder to find too.

BTW, how did you damage the bearing? I took one a part once but planning to take mine apart again to do some work.

I replaced mine 2 months ago. Bought this one off eBay. Worked like a charm. Two hours later and I was back on the road, no issues since.

Just changed the S/C oil at 63,000 miles.
Interesting observation: It required almost three times the amount of new oil than the amount drained. I know these units are sealed, but is it possible small amounts of oil are consumed over time? The old oil smelled pretty bad and the new oil (Mobil Jet) had the normal order. I have had jet turbine aircraft which use the same oil. I do not recall the used oil smelling so bad.

That old oil smells so bad. Anyone who has spent some time on a farm with livestock will find it eerily familiar.
Do tell. I'm sure someone has an extra s/c laying around. They can pull the old bearings and send them off as a template. I think ceramic is freaking cool stuff.
