Do the 03-04s have to be put in dyno mode too?

here is an easy way to know if your car will not do a standing still burnout.

put you car in M mode and first gear and floor it,if the car shifts to second gear your car will do easy burnouts,if it wont shift and bounces off the rev limiter at 6700 rpms you have a tricky car and almost impossible to do a decent burnout.

IDK if, my 05' SL600 applies here but similar problems have risen. I used to be able to burnout thru entire entersection no prob, but after my widebody we went to much larger wheels & I've measured differences bet frnt & rr it shouldn't be more than 1-2 % my rears are larger in Dia by 2-3% vs frnts. When I burnout now it goes good for 1st sec or so then you can actually hear ECU cut power & apply brakes. (both tests were done w/ESP OFF)

Stk tire/wheel dia should be closer to 26" even frnt & rr, ECU freaks out if larger or smaller 2-3% on frnt or rear thinks your overly spinning IE tot outt've control.. Hope this helps, I'm getting new frnt/rr Perf whls that vary less than 1% like stock, I'll report back if I'm correct. I don't think I could be wrong as it's the ONLY diff I've made prior to these new problems

You did that burn out without it being in dyno mode? Why would MB even allow SOME E55's do it and SOME not do it within the same years. Crazy stuff.

I think half you guys are talking about different things. There is a difference between turning ESP off and pounding the gas at the stop light and blazing the tires on down the road as opposed to turning off ESP and powerbreaking the car (hitting the brake and holding it while trying to floor the gas and spin tires to heat tires up for a launch at the track).

My 2005 will not do a burnout (power breaking), if the brake is held and gas punched it will spin for a second then cut power (with esp off), but if I simply turn esp off and floor it I can do a 50 feet long burnout down the road if I want to. But if I want to do a controlled power brake burnout then dyno mode must be used.

While I think the back and forth between you two is comical, if you are going to call someone an idiot and mention proper education you should probably use correct grammar..

It is YOU'RE, not "YOUR."

I can't do either. My car will shut down no matter what I do.

Hahaha look at your grammer, no wonder you are still in high school turd.

Flashers werent on in the initial burnout if you can see that is. When a car wanted to pass I turned them on during the secord burn out clown

As for selling cracked wheels, LOL ya I needed that $1000 soooo bad hence decided to rip somebody off... I dropped $4k on the new rims and just desperatly needed the $1000 man. Go look at my 200+ ebay feedback, and feedback from the crap load of people I have bought and sold stuff on here.

Btw I had them fixed for $400 and are sitting in my garage. **** if you had to fix them, like your budget e63 bumper build, would have taken you 6 months lmao... and still would have gotten butt railed for a stupid large bill because you are a stupid college kid still learning. Hope your taking some business classes. Hey, did you get your exhaust tips fixed? Do they still stick out a foot past the bumper?

OP, have you changed your tires since your last burnout?

I've done many burnouts in the car before, one of them being in my sig at the track!!
I was even able to "drift" my car through an entire parking lot without any issues.

Now all of a sudden, I can't do one at all lol.

And yes, ESP is off.
Wondering if you have changed the sizes or if you changed with the same size maybe a different brand? Some brands of tire have slightly larger overall dimensions than other brands for a given tire size.

FWIW, my car is an 06, tranny will never up shift in M-mode yet I have never used dyno mode. ESP off gets the tail happy enough and def allows for a burnout for as long as my wallet will permit.

tbal does your car shift in M mode or will it stay in gear and bounce off the rev limiter.

I wish my car could do what yours does and even in dyno mode I have had the car go into limp mode and throw a wrong ratio wheel code.
