I ran yoko ad08 and ad05's on my evo and they were great tires. Awesome performance in the dry...absolutely awesome. That said, they have a very stiff sidewall so the ride will be noticably harder.

Haven't ran any on the Benz, but on my Evo i have and currently use the A046's, A048's, and the A032's. Each one is badass IMO. If you're looking for something with a decent tread life, look at some all season models.

I am very impressed with Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA tires. Very quiet and loads of grip. Handle amazing in the wet and dry. I will buy them again.

Yoks are great tires, especially if you can get them at the sponsor rate - used to be less than $50 / tire. Ran them on the Evo & Porsche and loved them.

Re: Tires
Not sure what you consider cheap, but I recently shopped tires for my 63, was ready to go with Hankook V12s, but went with the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports as they are only about $125 more, way less than what the PS2 used to cost.
Still more $$ than the Yoko SDrive., Nittos and a few others, but not nearly as much more as a few years ago. Michelins have correct load rating, and also widest rear tread. Michelin has gotten a lot more competitive.
Having them put on next week, will update my observations after a few weeks of driving.

im not lowered and i have no intentions on doing so . reason i went so big is the bfg kdw doesent come in the 275/30 i have now .
curious to those with michilins , those were highly rated with alot of good reviews. i just love how soft these kdw's are but they dont last as long as most.

Michelin PSS
Got my Michelin Pilot Super Sports mounted today, very pleased.
Smooth, quiet, excellent handling and straight line traction.
I went with stock sizes, 245/40/18 and 265/35/18. The rear tread is almost an inch wider than the same size PS2 was, over 10 inches. As fyi, the 275 tread on the PSS is not any wider for those looking to upsize.
Better than my replaced Michelin PS2's, although in fairness the PS2 fronts had been on since 2009, had 11K on them, and the inside treads were completely worn out from negative camber.....I always run in Sport 1 or Sport 2.
The PSS works very well on an E63.

RE: Michelin PSS
I bought them at Onlinetires.com, better pricing than everywhere else I looked.
Michelin has an almost ship free deal going, it was like $18 extra for 4 tires.
Not sure about longevity just yet, but treadwear rating is 300, the old PS2 was 220, and Michelin sais they will last longer than PS2. I'll have a better answer in six months or so.
For comparison, Hankook V12 treadwear is 280; I have V12's on my C55, and after 11K miles they are about 65 percent worn, I'm hoping to get 15K out of them. May go with PSS on the C too depending on $$ when it's time of course.
