Gauge pods...what should I do?

I wish to install a wideband and a boost gauge on my car but I've have a hard time figuring out where to put it. Does anyone know of a site that perhaps sells universal pods that are covered in leather or suede or something...something that looks good?

If anyone has pics to share, please do so.

James @ ACG (sponsor here) should be able to hook you up. I seen one they did on a CLS63 covered in black suede with white checker stitching. It looked pretty good, if you are into gauges.

Something like this in the ashtray.

http://www.podi.ca/ExtraDualDisplay....rId=&GroupId=1

Hacker/tweaker board is also something to consider for a clean install.

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/Ha..._Tweaker.shtml

I have mine in the ashtray, downside is its not directly in your sight, upside its completely stealth.

That hacker/tweaker board is kinda cool. Anyone have any pics they want to post up?

Ask yourself when your going to want to look at the gauge...this is the most important question as to mounting choices. If you want to monitor the gauge here and there, mount it where it looks pretty. If the WB matters under WOT...mount it on the pillar where you can glance it while driving fast...I have mine mounted there on the GN and I can actually "use" the gauge when it counts. My most important gauge is fuel pressure, it's mounted outside on the hood right in front of my line of sight ( obviously a beautiful E55 wouldnt accept a gauge on the hood! )

I want them to be in the line of sight for this reason. But the E55's interior makes mounting gauge pods kinda complicated ( and look good at the same time ).

Heres my take on it,
Its retarded and dangerous to try and watch/read and interpret a wideban wile at Full throttle in a sub 11 sec car.
A much better Idea is to use the Zeitronix wideband with the alarm feature. You can set parameters in which it will alarm. This has 100% saved me from blowing my engine. You can Data log with a laptop, that alone is worth it. Just turn it on and forget about it. You can get a display if you want fancy blinky light things as well...

I do it in a 9 second car...it's a slight turn of the neck & a super fast glance..otherwise the gauge is USELESS real time. I also log my runs from time to time but real time occasionally is nice.

So turning your head breifly is in a 9sec car is better than an audiable light and buzzer that indicates that you need to lift? To each there own. If you ever watch your wideband you really need to watch it for more than a glance, its not at uncommon to have flickers of usless data thats not accurate of what the over all trend is.
