Replace E55 with C63 or M3?

Let me know how your intercooler pump does after racing a stock M5 6spd
. The E55 will not destroy the M5, not one bit. The M5 is built with real motorsports in mind, maybe not ONLY straight line. It can actually take turns.
E63 8:10 at the ring
E60 M5 7:52 at the ring
The C63 always being on? The 63 series engine has valvetrain issues up the wazoo, unlike the S65 V8 in the BMW.

8:13 --- 150.43 km/h - BMW M5 (E60), 507 PS/1844 kg (sport auto 12/04)
Let me educate you:
8:06 --- 152.59 km/h - Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG (sport auto 04/02)
Oh wait, it's a boat and it shouldn't be able to turn? Yea right!
I love BMW fanboys who know nothing about either platform.
The M5 is a great car and such a sweet high-reving engine. But your still wrong.

The 7:52 was unofficial, and why are you comparing a SL55 to a 4 door saloon?

I'm not a fan boy, I'm a fan of great automobiles. I've owned great cars from supras to z06's and I'm certainly not a BMW fan by any means. I give credit where it's due.
Compare the SL55 to a CSL M3

Explained here. The New M5 runs 7:5x
The M6 ran 8:07, meaning the heavy auto boat with less hp and weighing more has better handling. Oh Wait. AMG can't handle.
The local BMW kids here are so full of ****!
How about we compare the CSL M3 to a CLK GTR, whats next.

Das Geld 2 - Comparing a M3 CSL to a CLK GTR is like comparing C-4 to a nuclear bomb. Let's not forget the CLK was over a million dollars.

Hos this for a more fair comparison..
My stock - airmatic equipped E55 on 20" Heavy-*** Euro63s was setting faster lap times at Laguna Seca than the 3 E60 M5s that were out there. And it was my first time out there (at Laguna Seca, and my first time tracking the 55) and one of the M5 drivers said something about it being his 3rd or 4th session at Laguna!
I am sure that someone will play the "your a better driver" card, but come on... 3 different M5s with 3 different drivers!

This is how we compare:
E55 to M5 E55 wins in straight line
C63 to M3. No idea
CL65 to M6 CL65 wins
SLR
SLS
CLK GTR

Best way to decide. Drive both. ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Depends what you are looking for. Generally I think BMW is designed more around performance, mercedes is designed more on luxury. Both great cars, but depends on the driver and how you plan to use the cars.
