191MPH E55

Hi All!

We had a Vmax event a few weeks back, my beast did very well and ended up 3rd fastest!

Out of curiosity, how did the car feel at 191mph? Planted?
I had my old 911 Turbo up to about 180 once and it felt good but just looking at our E's they don't "appear" aerodynamically friendly for that speed.
Looks like your car got up to speed pretty easily!

Nice! How long was the track? You probably have the fastest officially recorded 55 now

Very nice! What are your mods? I'm sure the matte black was worth 2mph.

Our E's are VERY aerodynamic, probably more so than most porsche's or even ferrari's, it's the airmatic however that make the car feel like a boat at high speeds.

Thanks guys!

That last run was against a fully bolted E55 + cams + custom tune, I was two up also.

Either 1.6 or 1.8 miles, cant remember now, it was a 2 mile straight but we need room for braking.

The car has done a standing mile @ 180.01

Mods are,

- Kleemann headers, H pipe, no cats on to eisenmann back box.
- Kleemann tune
- Kleemann 168mm
- R/T 82mm tb and air box
- big h/e and rear tank (floored fab) with twin cm30 pumps
- Lightweight Rotors (front)
- Lightweight Battery
- Lightweight Wheels
- TTM Scoops

I need to attend one of these type of events. Glad to hear the 55 felt solid at those speeds, although i had no doubt it would.

Kleemann all the way. Would only look elsewhere if I had to tune for bigger then 180mm.

Nah mate, Kleemann has been tuning these cars for years never had a need to, IMO you only need fueling mods if you go over 180mm.

We did not time the event Vmax only but there was a quick R35 and Maclaren MP4-12c

Big Power Monaro/SL600 199 and 195. I was Joint 3rd with 599 GTO.

I already posted PROOF, not theories, of why this is not true in another thread.

Kleeman does seem to have a good tune though, no doubt.

Is the Texas Mile the closest thing we have to VMAX Event in the States?
