It is very sad to hear about the deaths of the individuals involved. However, this could have been completely avoided. While speed is obviously a major contributing factor in this incident, the real lesson here is to brake the next time you see that yellow light. Too many people gun it thinking that they have enough time to make it. The Ferrari driver either overestimated the distance/timing that was left before the light turned red or intentionally ran the light thinking there was no one around (which is plausible given the time of day that this incident happened).
Just noticed that it looks like there is a covered body on the ground in the 9th picture down, presumably that of the GTO driver.
