engine oil dipstick grommet replacement
I need to replace this grommet as it is leaking pretty badly. Please do not tell me the oil pan needs to come down.

Once you break the cover you have to replace it with a new one from the dealer.
The dipstick that you could buy, for about $ 60.00, was not permanent, but a shop tool only.
To the OP, as said before our cars dont come with Dipsticks. Its only to be inspected by shop techs with their dipsticks. The dipstick does not stay in the tube. Once you break the seal, you will have to replace it with a new one.

Turns out the OP is very experienced with these cars
He did his own head gasket if I am correct. YOu wouldnt know with his post count.
I feel silly.....What a waste of my posts?????

It's only bolted to the passenger side valve cover, just pull hard, turn twist etc you will get it out.
You will see the trans tube behind the passenger side surge tank and the engine oil tube in front of it. The engine oil tube goes right into the block at the base of the oil pan. there is a grommet there. From wrenching the tube back and forth when I did the heads I oblonged the grommet and it is leaking like crazy.
when you unbolt the tube from the head and try pulling it out of the block, no go.
Again, my fear is I will have to pull the pan down to get the tube out. that will blow as you must slacken the suspension, motor mounts and then support the engine in order to get the pan out!
I see there is a sensor on the pan near the tube. Maybe that needs to come off?
