Is this a good deal for an E55?
All service is up to date and documented. Mods are: Eurocharged 180mm pulley with a tune from a tuner down in Los Angeles (don't remember what the name of the company was), green (?) filters, and OEM E63 front end conversion.
I haven't seen the car in person yet, but from what I can see in phtoors there is no cosmetic damage and interior looks mint. The guy is asking $25,000 for it. Do you guys think this is a good deal? The mileage is higher than what I wanted it to be, but its really hard to find these in white. Any input greatly appreciated! Thank you!
25,000 is about wholesale if it is really optioned with everything, including nav, pano and both packages.i don't think the mods really increase the value at all,but they shouldn't hurt it either.
i would be wondering why the guy wants to wholesale his car?
would be a few grand more (28-29) but I have over 20k into it...including custom HRE rims, just about every mod you can do.....oh and PANO
mason- I actually feel like the price on this car is a little bit too good to be true considering what others on craigslist were asking for theirs. The guy does seem to be very honest though. Before I even asked, he told me the reason for the conversion is because the car was involved in a minor, parking lot accident.
citylight- Is your e63 posted for sale on craiglist?
The only thing that really worries me about this car is the fact that its running a 180mm pulley with no cooling or fueling mods. He's been running the car like that for 2 years. I've searched this forum about upgraded pulleys and it really scares me to think he's been daily driving the car this way without a bigger HE at the very least.

I would def be interested in that and I could hold off on this one if you really are thinking about selling yours. Can you PM or email me more spec/info on yours? LFan1286@gmail.com

This should help lol...
Ya Im thinking of getting a gallardo as long as financing goes through.
I have just about every mod on the car you can including a 185mm pulley, fuel mods, rear tank etc etc etc...
I will pm ya later when im not on my phone...
i always avoid cars that have been hit with any force at all costs.even a "parking lot" hit could be trouble depending on the owners definition.
i don't trust going by carfax either.it is only a starting point.i have seen tons of paintwork on clean carfax cars.not sure how it happens other than body work was not reported on insurance and paid out of pocket and maybe a couple of states still aren't carfax compliant?

Thank you all for the usefull info!

Im having a pre-purchase inspection done at a mercedes shop, so if there are any major body repairs on the car hopefully they will be able to notice it as well as any mechanical/electrical issues.
Car has 70K miles. Service G done at 65K and all brakes done less than a year ago. The only problem with the car is oil seeping from front and rear of engine, and also the rear diff. According to the technician gaskets or seals in those areas need to be replaced, but its not serious enough to leave any drops of oil on the ground, and "it wouldn't even lose a quart of oil between changes". ?
It really scared me to find out it was seeping oil, but the technician didn't make it seem like it was something that urgently needed to be fixed.
Anyways, what do you guys think would be a fair price on the car?

if you have both main seals leaking and the diff leaking, you're probably looking at 12+ labor hours to fix plus the cost of the seals and gaskets.the rear main will be the most expensive.maybe have him cover that part and you get the rest.
i might also wonder how long and why they are leaking.seems odd that both main bearing seals would be leaking.maybe nothing though.
