Only 46k on the odo. And yes the housing is also fuc*ed up and the tc is fried.

Working on that. The trans I was going to get down here wants the core back and I don't want to give it up. I'm going to rebuild it and make it stronger. That way I have a back up also.

Sold - 05' E55
I like your approuch, get a tranny AND rebuild yours. This way you have a back-up and it will be llike $ in the bank, if you don't need it or use it you can always sell it.

Is there an upgraded pump for our 722 trans? Did the OP have a stock stall or upgraded?

Bit of a mess. I think the TC bushing/bearings failed & took out the pump. Common. Usually starts with a whine & then fluid leak from the seal then failure.

Good luck!

That's exactly what Nemo said. Thanks, a second opinion is always comforting.

I'm not sure about the .6 trans, but when you replace the front pump on a .9 now instead of a bushing, it has roller bearings in it.

You might find this interesting/useful

http://www.scribd.com/doc/37436253/722-6

BTW - there is an upgraded pump and K2 drum for the 722.6. I am unable to identify whether your car has the upgrade or not.

On the 722.9 the pump upgrade was for quieter operation according to the literature.
