Ok.... we finally pulled the tranns

Updated pics on post 19

Rage-Tek and myself have both been really busy with other things, but we finally pulled the tranny off my car. We haven't opened it yet since today is Nemo's birthday. So it will be started on Monday.

We are still not really sure of what happened. However I did have the trans flushed about a month before this happened. And now I'm hearing all this stuff about trannys failing after a flush. Don't know if the fluid level was wrong or what, but we will soon find out. I have access to two otheer transmissions, but it will all depend on the damage.
I will update this thread with pics of everything we find and pics of how we are fixing what ever was broken. So stay tuned.......

Here's a couple pics for now and I guess we will fix the rear main leak. No better chance than this right.

Not sure how long it took. When I got there it was on it's way down. They've been busy with one of thier cars. That skittle made 700+ whp.

Don't make it more of a job than it is. Open it up and have at her. They are very simple transmissions.

That thing looks enormous in the picture. Good luck with the rebuild and with getting into the 10's.

+1. They are pretty simple to rebuild and even easier to remove. I was shocked when we had that trans out in 30 minutes the first time.

Thanks fellas! We won't Make to big of a deal about it. We have a rebuilt and a used trans waiting. We just wanted to document for everyone so that maybe something like this can be prevented.
But mark my words, as soon as we get back to PBIR I will be showing you a 10second slip.

This is probably a premature question, but do you plan to run the TCU tune with the new or rebuilt trans because I just noticed TCU tune is not in your sig anymore. Can't wait to see 10's from ya!

Yes I will be running the TCU again and always. It is one of the best mods I've done.

good luck with the rebuild! If you need anything let me know!

Also do your rear main seal while your there. Parts are like $20-$40 and you have already done 95% of your work!

I'll let you fellas decide, but I dont think we are going to try to rebuild at this point. I'm already getting anotther trans and we will take our time with this one to really beef it up and have as a back up.

Looks like the pump went out, ground down the TC a little, rest is normal wear. Rebuild it provided nothing else is really bad. How does the housing look, where the pump rides? Is it scored up pretty good also? Thanks for sharing. More and more transmissions will be following your path as miles and TQ add up.
