To Dyno...or not to Dyno...?

All...being a relative newcomer to the E55 world (one year in August) I am enjoying learning from the wealth of knowledge on this forum. I don't have a huge interest is modding my car at this point in time, but I am going to have a set of LTs installed on the car soon.

My question...after reading everything on fuel rails, bigger injectors, etc., is are there any risks to having my car dyno'd pre- and post- header install. The car is mechanically stock other than the Brabus K8 package and K&N filters. Is it worth it or should I just have the LTs installed and enjoy? Thanks.....

Dyno that *****!!! especially if you are going to add headers so you can see the before and after.

you can do a before and after dyno to see how much you picked up with the long tubes.

Dyno before and after for sure. Just don't get caught up in the numbers. They are just numbers.

I plan to put'er on the dyno, but was wondering if there were any inherent dangers in doing so to a stock motor. I only ask because of some of the fuel starvation coversations I've read...I don't want that or anything else to be a factor...just to see a graph with some numbers on it.

I ordered a set of LTs from MBH...they should be here soon. I'm not overly concerned with the numbers...i am "***"ured they are sufficient everytime I slide behind the wheel.

From what I understand about the K8 package...hp/tq are bumped to 530/590 via ECU, there is an additional water pump/pulley and counter flow cooler, and various other components. It's strong and runs very cool even in our recent sweltering 90+F temps. I've been told by Brabus that the LTs shouldn't afffect their package at all.

Well...put ol' girl on the dyno and this is what she did...410.24 HP/499.61 torq. I know, I know...post the graph. Problem is...I can't get the damn thing to load??? This was my first dyno experience...the tech said she ran real rich and that there was a lot of power hiding under the hood. LTs going on tomorrow then I'll spin her up again and see what she does.
