im not sure if that would work, because the milage must be within 150 or so of your cars milage else you will just get the dashes, this would have worked if you swapped the boards when originally changing the clusters over as the milage would have been the same as your cars.

So how does the new dash display the oil temp. (where is the dash getting the info) ? And what about TPMS monitoring each tire vs. just showing low ?
I would love to put this on the list of to dos

You will be accurate up to 80mph after that the error will increase as you go to full travel of the speedo

What other data is readily available and able to be displayed on the dash (all the time) ? Oil pressure, oil temp, and voltage (I miss having these three) ?

I recently updated my gauges with set from an E63. Sure enough, up to 120mph its spot on (checked with a GPS), but from 120 up, its off as I expected. The old E55 160mph gauges go up by 10mph increments every labeled tick from 120mph, where as the E63 gauges go up by 20mph increments from 120mph. So I assume you use a Star programmer to make this "linear" to "non-linear" change? Do you need the developers version to do this and which menu item is it under within Star DAS to make the change?
